I really respect the fact Machida lost consciousness rather than tap. That's heart right there, i was disgusted when Rampage tapped after gifting Jones his back.


Jones' greatest strength is probably his knowledge of his own weaknesses. Aside from catching them with one of his spinning elbows or a good knee, he's not gonna ko an opponent. He uses his gibbon-esque reach well and clinches, and as long as he can continue to do that and doesn't come against an opponent with Machida's striking and real 1-punch ko power nobody's gonna take that belt from him. Which kills me.

I said the same. He didn't lose anything in that fight except the title shot itself, and that's all. Pride lives on!

 Machida was doing GREAT and outstriking Jones in the first round and at one point he was rocked so badly he almost slept. So in the second round, Jones realizes that he would lose a decision if it went a 5 round striking battle, so he uses his superior strength to simply grab Lyoto and chokes him out like a pig in the slaughterhouse. This guy is a heavyweight and is simply too physically powerful to be dealt with by anyone at the light-heavyweight division.
