i tend to think so. i've always felt it was for the unintelligent and those that lack the ability to think for themselves.
i grew up in an extremely christian home. and our family along with our church congregation refused to celebrate it bc it's mixed with a lot of paganism and is blasphemous to christianity really.
the date of jesus' birth, for example, is nowhere in the bible, but it's doubtful they would have the sheep out in the field in the middle of winter.
they took that date from some other mythical dude who was famed to have had sex with his mother and an evergreen tree grew there. (or something to that end)
the reindeer, santa claus, the word "christmas"--none of that is in the bible.
so even from a christian perspective christmas is bull shit.
also the whole idea was gifts to honor the divine soul that incarnated into the baby jesus, not exchange gifts among yourselves. stupid shit.
