You are wrong if you say protein powder is garbage.

GH15 is wrong whenever he says protein powder is garbage. There is no reason to say this. Whey protein is the same as any other type of protein. Same results, same thing. It's cheaper and more convenient. To say you will build bigger muscles on raw egg white liquid than protein powder is pretty silly.

It's not useless when you have times where eating food is not convenient or even possible.   Many work environments will drive this situation.

I wouldn't because I have the appetite of a sumo wrestler. But if I did have more shakes than food, which I have done at one point in the past, the results were EXACTLY THE SAME. Protein is protein, bottom line.

Unless you're stuck in the desert with nothing but a bottle of water and whey protein, there really is no reason to take protein powder. If you're working and you don't have time for a solid meal, why not just eat a granola bar and an apple or some shit? Or why not try fasting for a little bit? This idea that you need 30 grams of protein (or more) every few hours is laughable.

How would a granola bar and apple be more advantageous than whey protein? whey protein is the cheapest source of protein and easiest to take down

I agree that protein is protein and I wouldn't be surprised if you had the same results. But the fact of the matter is that:
1) Solid food tastes better.
2) Solid food doesn't get you bloated and give you protein farts unless you eat some really wacky shit.
3) Solid food is more filling - so you don't overdo calories.
4) You don't need as much protein as the supplement companies tell you anyway, so there really is no reason to supplement your diet with protein powder.

I agree with your other points, except that protein powder doesn't make me fart personally. Solid food is way more filling, which is why I do eat mostly solid food. I only have pre and post workout (with oats or some type of carb), and also before bed I have casein and whey together (with almonds)

He is not wrong and it is garbage.  A lot of guys I know that compete at the national level all said they feel and look better when they stop protein powder.  Protein powder is not a natural form of protein your body absorbs.  You end up shitting more than you actually absorb.  It is garbage and not worth it.

When people spend $4 at GNC for a shitty shake when you can buy two chicken breasts for the same price, grill them and have a better source.

I used to take powders but switched to whole foods about 2 years ago and am never going back.  It seems more logical to eat the food, a chicken breast is a chicken breast, no filler, no bs.  Protein powder, despite the nutritional info leaves you wondering what your getting.  I wouldn't doubt that companies underdose it and use mainly filler.  Plus most powders give you gas and leave you bloated, probably because your body is trying to figure out what the fuck you just fed it.  Eggs, tuna, milk, oats; all very cheap plus you know what you're getting, so there shouldn't be any reason to substitute.
