when Ron doles out a temporary ban .. you can log in ... you can't see the TimeOut board .. so you can't post in there .. you can't post nor use the pm function on the board at all .. from TimeOut you can get pm's but can't send them

it has a message in red printing at the top of the board that tells you  "you are banned from posting and pm'ing" when you are temp. banned

a permanent ban blackens out your name

a TimeOut shows under your avatar
