I read about a cop who came across some dude in the mall parking lot just sitting their idling his truck , the cop pulled up asked if everything was okay , dude opened fired on the cop , the cop shot him SEVENTEEN times and that fucker was still trying to shoot the cop !!

very hard to kill with one shot. I watched this video multiple times and it's a clean kill , dude raised the weapon up and cocked back , I would have shot him too.

I'm the first guy to bash cops when necessary, but this post^ is spot on. You get hit in the head with a crowbar, you are fucked if not dead. When a cop shoots, he shoots to kill. Another thing is they have no idea if the guy with a crowbar had a partner in crime. Cops needed to secure the place. The fact that there's a couple of young people in a car pointing something in there direction(camera)makes me believe that the cops had to act so quick that the area wasn't exactly secure.

The only cops who would take a leg shot would be a sniper in a totally different situation. The cop here who took the first shot may have saved his partner from having a pipe to the head. You know we lived in a fucked up world where some kids in a car and video tape a guy getting shot the fuck up at basically close blank range and the kids start laughing. $:-\$

he was no more than 5 feet away weilding a crowbar. sorry, a crowbar can kill someone in one shot. the cop did the right thing.

I don't recommend taking a crowbar to the head... They can only bash your skull in.

Did it take 8 bullets? Obviously not, but in this instance, the cop is not in the wrong.

A. Any fuckhead with a gun pointed at them, not immediately complying with orders is a Darwinism award winner.
B. Cops are trigger happy. In a typical cop career it's rare for them to draw their gun, much less shoot it. Most cops (and I know a few) are not proficient with their weapons.

a few of you are very naive in this thread...the reason you don't " shoot for the leg, is that you have no guarantee even if you hit him, that he doesn't draw a weapon in his waistband,etc...

You also don't want him to be ABLE to draw a hidden weapon, if you should miss....you are trained to hit the largest part of the target...

Good post. And the fact that if you miss the leg, do you really know whats standing 50 yards behind him. Probably lots of on lookers in that road way.

Personally, I would have tried to shoot him in the leg, but he did have a crow bar and was coming at him and like everyone stated the cop had adrenaline coming in hard after the first shot so he wants to make sure the guy is down, stupid cop?... yes,... should he get in trouble?.... I think everything was by the books, so no. A soldier would have stopped after shooting him once cause they have more appropriate training and they can control their adrenaline a bit better

For those commenting on the cops actions after the shooting.. Keep in mind they're without a doubt going threw fight or flight reactions. They were probably unaware of what they were doing due to the massive amounts of adrenaline,excitement, and nervousness. You have no idea how many thoughts come rushing into your head after a shooting, let alone what your body's going threw.
