I know it seems contrary, the point I was getting at was in things like fights where there are far to many variables to take into account, trying to apply rudimentary logic such as "Technical boxers will beat Technical kickboxers in most MMA cases because humans use their hands better than their feet", is trying to create a logical conclusion out of a highly complex situation.
Not necessarily saying that its not true, just that trying to break it down to that level of simplicity will often wind up with contrary results, just because there are far more factors to take into account than style and what appendages humans use more efficiently.

It comes down to the whole "Any given Sunday" analogy used in football.
Anything can happen, on any given day in a fight, and trying to break it down like you did is fruitless as that is far oversimplifying a very complex situation.

  I don't think it is rudumentary logic otherwise more people would come to that conclusion. If you look at internet message boards, most people believe that Overeem will beat JDS because kickboxers are more "complete" strikers since they also use their legs and knees for fighting. That is rudimentary logic. They ignore that humans cannot use their legs very effectively for striking at all.

  And you are right that we cannot prrdict the result of fights. The best we can do is observe their strengths and weaknesses and how effective they are in utilizing those strengths in fighting. The closest you could do to know  for real who would win would be to program these strengths and weaknesses into a computer program and run thousands of computer simulations of who would win and then average them like the show "Deadliest Warriors" does to hypothetical fights between the great warriors of history. This would still give only an educated guess of who would win.

  It is the fact that the number of different potential outcomes in a fight is greater than the number of atoms in the Universe that makes fights interesting.
