A dwarf prosecutor in is suing a man she called as a witness in a court case - after he broke down laughing in court at her size.
Silke Schoenfleisch-Backofen, 39, is a little lady with a big name, and an even greater sense of right and wrong.

She may stand only 3ft 8in high but Ms Schoenfleish-Backofen punches well above her legal weight as many villains in Frankfurt have found to their cost.

So when Russian-German Wadim Golanev, 25, cracked up in hysterics at the 'dwarf lady' in court during a case about theft, she was decidedly unimpressed.

Golanev was unable to answer her questions due to his hysterical laughter, pointing at her and singing 'Hi Ho, Hi Ho!' from Snow White And The Seven Dwarves.

No-one else joined in. And before he left the witness box he was handed a hastily scrawled summons accusing him of 'obscene insults' and ordered to appear before a judge next month.

In legal circles Ms. Schoenfleisch-Backofen has the nickname 'Power Frau' - mighty woman.
She decided to become a lawyer after failing to get into medical school because of the dwarfism that hindered her growth - in immediately set about suing the health ministry for refusing her entry.
'What's big for me is not the physical measurements of the body, but what's big inside you,' she said.

She has been a prosecutor at the Frankfurt State Court for eight years, mostly dealing with business law although she has done the odd murder case.

She first hit the headlines in Germany in 2006 when textile heir Andreas Grimm, 25, was killed. She successfully prosecuted his best friend even though the victim's body has never been found.

To be fair, you really can't fuck around like that in a courtroom when called as a witness. He is fortunate he is not getting hit with a contempt of court charge. He must be a bit of a thick c.unt to start doing what he did in that environment.

Court is not the place to fuck around and be frivolous.

I agree completely. In a US court I think he'd be lucky not to be arrested there and then.

That's the point though... the Judge didn't do anything.

Why does this woman feel the need to assert her "dominance" because she was laughed at in court? Why didn't she summon the judge?

A) The Judge doesn't mean that all judges will or not. In one case a judge may decide that it is wrong or not, and another judge might rule against the other judge. They are JUDGES. They judge what they deem right and wrong based on prior cases and precedents set by previous trials.

The judge probably didn't do anything, probably because it didn't have relevance to the case at hand. Given that the girl now sues the guy that laughed at her, if the judge resides over that case, he/she may very well throw the book at the guy.

B) You see it as the woman exuding dominance. The woman sees it as trying to make sure dwarfs aren't laughed at in a court of law in the future. Or at the very least if she goes to trial with it she will hope that people think twice.

There's frivolous lawsuits, like the McDonald's hot coffee being spilled.
And there's cases that have some moral merit and can be good for society.

A. In a court of law... The judge presiding OWNS that courtroom... period. If she had a problem with how the courtroom is being run, take it up with the person who is presiding... You know... The judge.
