Cardillo belts
« on: February 02, 2012, 11:00:44 AM »
I would like to take this time to give a little feed back on cardillo training belts. My wife got me a personalized leather training belt like we all see the pros wearing. First off I was blown away with the quality of the belt and the personalized stitching and after over a months use and abuse it still looks brand new. for all of you considering purchasing one I can tell you they are well worth the money and the belt comes with a life time warranty.

apart from heavy powerlifting what purpose does a belt serve. Supposedly for the lowerback muscles but mainly to compensate for weak abdominal muscles the belt becomes a cheating mechanism depriving the abs of doing the work they are called upon to do

I used to wear a belt no matter what bodypart I was training,I practically slept in the damn thing.

I think most guys from my era always wore a belt no matter what.

These days,I put one on only when going extra heavy on legs or deads or anything that might strain my injured lower back........usually rowing movements or deadlifts only.

They used to be part of gym fashion influnced no doubt by the muscle porn  mags which probably explained why so few looked worn in with years of use
Im not dismissing them, I had a few but gave some away when I realised how little i needed them

I have always associated cardillo belts with spandex leotards and otomix high top sneakers, that alone made me never  want to get one.
But since your wife got it for you as a gift you're kinda fucked.

It doesn't say NY MUSCLE on the back, does it?

I never use a belt. I tried it once. It hurt my ribs, my hips, couldn't breath properly. It was a pain in the ass. Never again. It was one of those oldschool leather belts tho.
