I don't know about the inherent dangers of tazing someone, but what happened to the girl was not something the cop imagined/wanted ofcourse. I see it as excessive force considering she wasn't physically harming anyone- the least he could have done is warned her?

The main point is a tazer isn't a compliance tool, it's supposed to be an alternative to deadly force.

so when these fat fucks taze people for minor violations it should be viewed as the equivalent of them drawing their weapon and firing at jaywalkers, drunks or mentally disturbed homeless people.

the woman was a threat to herself and others. Yes, the danger was perceived b/c she wasn't physically harming anyone. However, that's like arguing you shouldn't tase someone who is charging at you with a weapon b/c technically they aren't physically hurting you

If someone is charging you with a weapon that IS the definition of imminent danger.

Holy crap man. If someone is charging you with a baseball bat you have every right to shoot to kill.

See here's where there's a disconnect.

Reasonable people see imminent danger and irrational people do not apparently.

She was in custody and chose to run out of a police station cuffed. Some people are just shit magnets.. period. If you don't want to be a shit magnet, obey orders and don't run. If you choose to fuck off and run out of a station.... trying to escape custody, the officer/deputy has the right to shoot to kill.

There are of course very limited times when an officer would be authorized to shoot a running handcuffed suspect. None of those conditions were present.

if it's an illegal, drunk mexican charging the LAPD with a knife (after stabbing a pregnant woman and other people) who gets shot then people riot on the streets in protest and cops are investigated at the taxpayers expense. But if a young girl is tazed in the back there's a few comments on youtube and the cop gets a raise.

Where we differ is that you think it was ok to use a taser and I disagree in this instance.

way to miss the crux of my post. A perceived threat is still a perceived threat whether it be to themselves or others. The girl could have ran into oncoming traffic and been killed by a car or caused an automobile accident that resulted in the death of an innocent bystander.
