I always did 4 sets of  20 -30 for years when my bodyweight was under 195! Once I got over 210 was lucky to to get 20!

mosat experts says they are much better than puldowns . yet not easy to do . i think lee haney did few pulups . yet had a great back . more athletic move.. yet chin ups aparatus ar often too fragile . not sturdy enough too scarce and made for average height people .
