Are the leaders of the Egypt and Iran willings to exchange their places of power for the slim chance of winning a war with israel? I think not.
See, you're thinking like someone would if they were dealing with rational thinking...unfortunately, you're not dealing with that at all. Would they give it up? Iran has stated time and time again, vehemently stated there is nothing more important than the complete destruction of Israel. Economic growth, global power, simply the betterment of their society, none of these things outweigh the importance of seeing Israel destroyed. Of course, some will say they don't actually mean it, but people only say this because it sounds crazy...yes, it is crazy, but that's because these people are insane. Crazy people say and do crazy things. As for Egypt, overall they're rather powerless in the grand scheme of things IMO, but they possess the same insanity as Iran.
Let me make a certain point clear, I do not believe all Iranians think this way...quite a few do and the Iranian government most certainly does, but there are good people.
As an interesting side-note, years ago when I used to do personal training I had an Iranian client...her and her family escaped Iran when the whole thing went nuts back in the 1970's. According to her, there is nothing more important to many Iranian's and the Iranian government than the complete destruction of Israel, and that so much focus is and has been put on this it has held this nation back for decades. As another side note, she said she was sad to see our current government evolving into a system a tyranny that reminded her of home. Her and I definitely used to have some interesting conversations.
