And?

Along with triceps, anterior delt, some front, pec major/minors would be the primary movers. Stabilizers would include rhomboids, all four rotator cuff stabilizers, glutes (yes glutes). I'm talking just for regular bench. All auxiliarys should be to help increase the main lift. In this case bench. I'm a firm beliver in bands chains boards FLOOR PRESSING, close grip prwssong, palms in pressing, etc. In other words. I love conjugate training ie; Westside.

There are many methods to train. There is no right or wrong way.

All I am saying is these "spectacular" and "complicated" methods Coach, and other trainers use are pointless for the average person looking to get in shape and build muscle.

If coach did what every other successful trainer does, why would anyone "think" his services are better.

Can't just reinvent the wheel and turn around and sell it. I get that.

Why not just have the athlete up the dose and stick to the basics? Works wonders.

I always heard they were great......never tried them personally.

In my case,I could give two fucks about how much I bench these days,I only bench once in a blue moon anyway and do more incline orientated pec exercises these days along with flyes.

Yeah, thanks. They bench, squat, deadlift, power clean, snatch, clean and jerk.

LOL! Oh, brother.

The only wrong way to train is the method that gives no results.

So many factors in athletic performance, not just training methods.

Although, you would like us to believe otherwise.

Maybe. But there's a shit-ton of grey area in the middle, where it's neither "wholly bad" or "wholly good". Lots of training programs are "good enough" for 99% of people, even most pros.

Let's put it this way - 99% of guys don't train perfectly yet still manage to get great builds. That includes professional athletes.

Genetics, drugs, heart, and good effort are far more important components of the equation than any training program. Always will be.

Well said.

Amazing how many athletes feel that paying money for some trainer with "innovative" techniques will suddenly make them a champion.

Yes, I am sure that movement has made all the difference.  ::)
Try it, you feel it in your upper pecs. I did it after I saw the vid. I don't do floor Presses, only done them once in a blue moon---just something about getting on the floor.
He uses them to improve his bench, if you go to the training board, apparently benchers tend to use this movement more in helping with their bench.

It may work, but depending on goals, a person may not care about strength gains on the bench.

Like I said before, this is a valid exercise, but in no way can it be considered the best or necessary.

There are millions of methods. None are best.

You need two spotters and the exercise has a shorter range of motion. What's the fucking point?  :-\

Exactly.

My guess is it impresses his clients.  Got to confuse people to be a successful trainer these days, apparently.

Fails at activating as many motor neurons as possible in the muscle, versus full ROM. Full ROM lifting activates more motor neurons than shortened ROM.

So, for breaking through a sticking point, should one just use full ROM?

As soon as you explain why db floor presses are no good as an auxilary exercise.
And please post double blind university studies.

It's a specialized technique, and it works.

And we should thank our lucky stars that she is. I mean, I never knew how to do a reverse lunge before that pic!

Oh shit, just realized it! I just enlarged your avatar, and framed the pic. Looks like I will be doing reverse lunges tomorrow.

I wonder if Coach approves of reverse lunges.  ??? ???

You should be more concerned about a double blind study confirming that reverse lunges aren't just some made up move to confuse your clients and convince them that they need to buy more sessions from you. ;)
