I appreciate the musicianship of the Dead. Just not my cup of tea

i went to one Dead show, almost passed out from the stench of BO and lice. i did enjoy the marajuana though

Dylan was great. an amazing song writer and musician. his voice was different. He is unlistenable now. but one of, if not the, most influencial rock stars ever.
I can appreciate that. I dont know when the show was but I'm sure towards the end, they were a mess. Just people going to get fucked up and Jerry wasted on heroin. Musically a phenominal band.

yeah, he's 47 now. from 88 to 97 he was ridiculous. Superunknown was their 4th record.

he's nothing like he was, but the man can still sing. and they are tight as shit now, music wise

Don't get me wrong, Soundgarden is one of my all time faves. While we're on the 90s, how about Layne Staley or Chris Robinson?

They both had distinctive tones, and were great singers in their own right. but if we are talking the guy with the most unreal voice...they aren't in the same league as a prime Cornell.

this tune is IMO the best rock vocal i have ever heard. I listen to this every week

bono 85-93 (93 being his peak) was the greatest ever...like a super power.  If you listen to some of the bootlegs from the lovetown tour and the zootv tour, he has a quality and   Also, freddie mercury, robert plant, jim james...

3:49 and on in this one

8:46 and on in this one (the scream without breakup @ 9:19, but pushed, is something only he and mercury can do)

and again, showing off his falsetto:
