If you're looking for a mainly plastic gun you can't go wrong with a Glock. They never jam and they are pretty cheap. The Smith seems to be a copy of the Glock. Go with the original.
The Winchester company went out of business I believe. I think Browning bought the rights and make a few for a $1000 plus bucks. If Browning now owns Winchester you can be assured it would be quality. I remember when you could buy a brand new Winchester 94 for under $200 back in 1987 or so. I have heard that field stripping a Winchester can be a little tricky. The marlin is easy but the metal on Marlins look like it's unfinished so it looks like crap.
For Zombies I would use a Ruger 1022. In the apocalypse ammo supplies is going to be a problem. Getting .223, .308. 9MM and .38/.357 will be easy to find until things get really bad then good luck. If things get bad the common .22 long rifle will be your best bet. You can keep bricks of 500 on hand. Using a Ruger 1022 and a low powered sight or a reflex sight you would have a weapon good for 100 yards. Since zombies move so slow picking head shots with the semi auto should do the trick.
