who's the most powerful character in the marvel universe? i was browsing their site a while back, which has "official" rankings.

some who stuck out to me:

galactus
thor, odin
infinity, death
the celestials
the ones who sit above in shadow
phoenix force

some others... i got caught up reading that site for hours and came to the conclusion if there's any "most powerful being" apart from the abstracts (like death, infinity, phoenix force, etc.) it's probably galactus.

Like you said, probably Galactus as far as actual entities go (i.e., not abstract concepts like death)

As far as "All powerful", I'd say "The-One-Above-All"

Yes, this happened after Michael J. Straczynski changed the status quo back to what it should be with Thor being bulletproof. But for a while he wasn't and I thought that was ridiculous. Back in the mid 2000's in Black Panther #8 the writer Christopher Priest went to current Thor writers Kurt Buiesk (Avengers) and Dan Jurgens (Thor) and asked if Thor was bulletproof and they both decided that he wasn't even though he was shown to be in the past. Here is Thor taking a bullet to the head and passing out from it (scroll down to thread #13 to see the two pages from that story):

This shit started a firestorm from Thor fans. It wasn't until MJS retconned that whole debacle later on and proved once and for all that Thor was bulletproof.
