I agree... no diss to americans I love the they are great people friendly when ive visited.....kind etc
but for anyone to actually say more people should have been carrying .... is just incredulous ...
this cowboy gun way is just wrong IMO.....

I think that people should have the ability to protect themselves but that wouldn't have prevented what happened last night , nothing would. And that type of situation has bad written all over it , smoke , dark , sound , panic and terror , him wearing body armor , etc nothing was gonna stop that but doesn't mean people shouldn't have the ability to protect themselves and look for an opportunity to end the threat without harm to other people.

Because this was the opening of the new Batman movie, and he was fulfilling his romantic ideal of being the "joker".
Dude was crazy.
So if this was his dream since childhood, what was his attempt at med school?

Banning guns or "making them harder to get" is impossible, there's already a huge underground market for stolen and unlicensed guns and there are tons of places to gets parts that are 80% complete and finished the machine work yourself and you have unnumbered, unlicensed, unregistered fully automatic weapons. Anti gun people seem totally oblivious to the fact that criminals and their associates don't pay attention to laws.

I'm out.

If he wanted to kill as many people as possible why didn't he kill 300 people?

Who said it was a childhood dream?  ???

Besides, dude had body armor, smoke grenades, and explosives. He clearly didnt give a fuck about the law and would have still had the firearms even if they were illegal, judging from the fact he was already decked out with illegal gear.

Yeah because machining weapons in a shop is very cost effective, and more importantly completely off the radar of the police/fbi

Where are you trying to go with this? That he just woke up one day and said "Man, im gonna go buy an AK and shoot up a bunch of people at the theater tonight, good thing I can buy firearms so easily?" Cause that really doesnt fly, since the things he used to do this clearly constituted pre-meditation, you dont just aquire body armor, kevlar helmet, and wire your home with explosives all in a day. (all of which are highly regulated and illegal)

50 or 100 round magazines are for nuts and crazies.

You want a gun, fine.  How about we settle with 12 shots.

One of the instructors at my school just downloaded a CAD file for an AR (upper and lower reciever) that he's going to cut.

Hell, im fine with 30, but 50-100 is definitely overkill. Too bulky anyway.
Id have no problem with 50-100 round magazines being illegal.

Why? because some looney might go crazy? cars that go 200MPH are for nuts and crazies lets ban those as well  ::)

lets ban all cars that go over 65MPH because they may crash and hurt other people . great logic

Eh..... I wouldnt have a problem with restricting to 30 round mags, if nothing other than to shut up the gun control bitches.
Then again, I'd never use a big mag to begin with. Id rather have 10 30 round mags than 3 100 round mags.

This state already bans new 30 rounders all the ones I have a pre-ban , see a pattern? I have no desire for a beta-c mag or the new Surefires but it goes back to the original point , ban it from who? law-abiding citizens?  :-\

Exactly. You can buy lowers 80% complete with prints on how to finish, no FFL, no numbers, no ID check. Finish your AR in only a few hours for a fraction of the cost and completely off the radar. Your instructor probably downloaded that shit for free too.

I brought it up before, but I know a guy in Colorado that makes hand crank gatlin guns in .223 for "varmints". :D

That NEVER shuts them up. And it doesn't stop criminals from doing what criminals do.

Those 100 round magazines were tested by .Gov and then never bought any to unreliable and how much does a 100 round mag fully loaded weigh? not to practical but .Gov shouldn't be punishing you and I because of some jackass criminal

I'm saying the guy thought it out which means he was acting on very rational thought process, he was clear cut, knew what he wanted to do, and planned it down to every single detail. Point is if any number of details are different it may have reduced his kill count or kept him from doing it altogether.

Logically he would want to kill thousands of people if he could but didn't, because there was no way for him to effectively get this kill count, he was limited, if he could of gotten more explosives into the premises my guess is he would of used them, he is a joker copy cat after all. A medal, detector, a dividing ridge in the buildings structure, faster exits for crowd dispersal, more expensive weapons, better tracking on these weapons etc all could of saved lives.

No Massachusets decided it worked so well ( despite all the evidence to the contrary ) they kept it.

Haha, one of the kids was talking about those the other day, the old school gatlin gun with the wooden crank?
Yeah, he got if off one of the websites called CADgrab or something, didnt pay a cent. There was CAD files for all kinds of them, AR-10's, AR-15's, etc.

Youre trying to argue that a man that walked into a theater and started shooting people, pretending he was the joker, was acting rationally? And that he may have just decided against it if it was toughter?
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot bro? He went to a lot of work to get the helmet, vest, and explosives, he was pretty dedicated. Your argument makes no sense.
