Yes but the Euro fags on this board don't understand what real freedom means.

Somehow, it's instilled in most US citizens that the cost of true freedom means giving up some of that precious security from the government.

I'd rather protect myself than have my government do it... especially on a personal scale and I have no problem taking up arms against a government who wishes to do me or my loved ones harm.

These reports will keep coming every day until they get a gun law ban  :-\

http://news.yahoo.com/3-arrested-separate-dark-knight-incidents-080930278.html

3 arrested in separate 'Dark Knight' incidents

At least 3 men accused of making threats during or after watching the new Batman movie have been arrested in separate incidents, underscoring moviegoers' anxieties and heightened security in the wake of a deadly mass shooting at a Colorado theater showing the film.

A Maine man was arrested when he told authorities that he was on his way to shoot a former employer a day after watching "The Dark Knight Rises," Maine state police said Monday.

Timothy Courtois of Biddeford, Maine, had been stopped for speeding, and a police search of his car found an AK-47 assault weapon, four handguns, ammunition and news clippings about the mass shooting that left 12 people dead early Friday, authorities said.

Former graduate student James Holmes, 24, is accused of opening fire in a theater in a Denver suburb. The shooting also injured 58 people.

Courtois said he had attended the Batman movie on Saturday, although police have not confirmed whether he actually saw the film.

"I guess we're taking everything at face value," State Police Lt. Kevin Donovan said. "It's very scary."

Police searched Courtois' home later Sunday and found a machine gun, several other guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition.

"We don't know what his true intentions were," said Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety. "Based on the arsenal that was confiscated, we brought in our counterparts from the FBI and ATF to assist with the investigation."

Courtois was charged with speeding and possession of a concealed weapon.

In Southern California, a man at a Sunday afternoon showing of the film was arrested after witnesses said he made threats and alluded to the Aurora shooting when the movie didn't start.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies were called to a cinema complex in Norwalk after moviegoers said 52-year-old Clark Tabor shouted: "I should go off like in Colorado." They said he then asked: "Does anybody have a gun?"

A security guard saw Tabor with a backpack on his knees in the second row, but deputies who searched the bag, the theater and its surrounding area did not find any weapon.

Separately, moviegoers in Sierra Visa, Ariz., panicked when a man who appeared intoxicated was confronted during a showing of the movie. The Cochise County Sheriff's office said it caused "mass hysteria" and about 50 people fled the theater.

Off-duty Border Patrol agents tackled Michael William Borboa, 27, who had a backpack with him, according to The Arizona Daily Star. Authorities said it contained an empty alcohol container and a half-empty moonshine bottle.

Borboa was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct, and threatening and intimidating.

Despite some jitters over the horrific shooting, moviegoers around the country still flocked to theaters to see the film, which was the final installment of the phenomenally successful Batman trilogy. Warner Bros. reported that it brought in $160.9 million over the weekend, making it the third highest opening weekend ever, after "The Avengers" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2."

The Bible doesn't state HOW Cain killed Abel - plus I think your missing the point - it's about the amount of sudden death and ease with which a weapon can kill - good luck going to a cinema with a rock and outdoing the kills this JOKER pulled off - A Nuclear Bomb is also an inanimate object - should I be allowed to own a NUKE!

Ok, what if this guy drove a big truck into a large crowd of people full speed? Should trucks be banned?

I'm a big gun enthusiast and so are a lot of my friends. We love to shoot clay targets, hunt and go to the range and shoot holes in paper.
Why should we be punished for a single act of random violence? Makes no sense.

Fact is that there are lunatics across the world ...this Colorado tragedy could not have been prevented. It makes no sense to try to make sense of it and make new laws restricting peoples freedoms.

Over 70 people were shot (or injured) in a few moments.  How many bullets were fired?

Why the fuck should some nut be able to get all that fire power without having to show who he is?

I assume we'll need a few more of these events before the majority of voters will want to adopt a sane policy.  Nobody fucking needs 50 or 100 round magazines unless they intend to go on the offensive.  They don't have to know how to aim a gun, just spray......

THIS TRAGEDY COULD NOT HAVE BEEN PREVENTED !! Get this in your heads

You guys are all missing the fucking point...you're all eluding that we need stricter gun control.
That will solve nothing. Any motivated criminal or psychopath can get their hands on pretty much any weapon they please.

The fucking war on drugs has been going on for decades and you can go to any shady area of town anywhere in the country and get coke, meth, heroin, ...etc. These drugs have killed millions of the years from overdose, drug deals gone bad...etc.

Right, I am a responsible gun owner.

My point is that responsible gun owners who buy guns legally should not be made out to be criminals like the nuts who get their guns in alleys illegally.

Here's What Would Have Happened If James Holmes' Apartment Trap Worked
Michael Kelley|Jul. 24, 2012, 8:56 AM|4,135|5

AP Images

A law enforcement official who viewed video from inside James Holmes' apartment said it was booby-trapped with more than 30 homemade grenades and 10 gallons of gasoline, Poppy Harlow and Ed Payne CNN report.

"By the time a fire truck would have arrived, they would have arrived to a building that would have been completely consumed in flames," the official told CNN.

The suspect in last week's deadly shooting in Aurora, Colo., that killed 12 and injured 58 apparently wired the grenades to a control box in the kitchen that looked like IED set-ups used in Iraq and Afghanistan, the official said.

The contraption, which appeared to be rigged to blow if triggered, was disabled by a remote-controlled bomb robot that squirted water on it.

Gasoline was in glass containers scattered around the apartment .

On Saturday authorities defused the trip wire and incendiary device in addition to successfully executing two controlled detonations.

Holmes made his first court appearance Monday, and formal charges (including first-degree murder) are expected on July 30.

As of Monday night,  20 people remained hospitalized – seven in critical condition – in four area hospitals.

nobody wants a gun ban more than criminals, who will then be the only civilians armed

while the upstanding law abiding citizens will be stripped of their abilities to defend themselves and their family from those criminals

I do not disagree... I believe EVERYONE should be able to buy any and all guys they want to... The laws for KILLING and hurting people with those guns is where we should draw the line.

You go crazy and run around and kill a bunch of people, you should be shot on the spot.

I also don't buy into the notion that if someone else had a gun it would have been worse... Anyone who has a firearm has the ability to stop another armed attacker... Is it a guarantee, of course not, but it's a damn sight better than just sitting around and getting shot at and doing nothing.

Ok, so we're on the same page.

I'm surprised that in a gun friendly state like Colorado nobody in that movie theater was carrying.

If a few of the movie goers were armed, you can bet your ass a lot less innocent lives would have been lost.

There are numerous instances where people have stopped armed assailants with their personal CCW.

You just never hear it reported... They like to keep that shit under wraps... Assholes.

One of the victims in the James Holmes mass murder spree has lawyered up and plans to file a lawsuit ... because he feels the theater dropped the ball in a very fatal way.

Torrence Brown, Jr. was in Century 16 Theater when Holmes let loose.  One of Brown's best friends, A.J. Boik, was shot in the chest and died.  Brown, who was not physically injured, claims to now suffer from extreme trauma.

Brown has hired attorney Donald Karpel to rep him.  Karpel tells TMZ ... he is targeting 3 defendants.

1.  The theater.  Karpel claims it was negligent for the theater to have an emergency door in the front that was not alarmed or guarded.  It's widely believed Holmes entered the theater with a ticket,  propped the emergency door open from inside, went to his car and returned with guns.

2.  Holmes' doctors.  Karpel says it appears Holmes was on several medications -- prescribed by one or more doctors --  at the time of the shooting and he believes the docs did not properly monitor Holmes.

3.  Warner Bros.  Karpel says "Dark Knight Rises" was particularly violent and Holmes mimicked some of the action.  The attorney says theater goers were helpless because they thought the shooter was part of the movie.  Karpel tells TMZ, "Somebody has to be responsible for the rampant violence that is shown today."

Why not sue the company that sold Holmes the red dye for his hair while he is at it?

.... just like de regulation and lower taxes are the solution to the economic collapse and federal defecit.

 ;D

anyone see a theme here ??     the solution to the problem is more of what caused the problem to begin with ??

how people can get shit so twisted... lmao..

a guy uses a gun to kill people.

we need more guns!!

deregulation allows banks to make short sighted and risky/irresponsible investments that leads to an economic collapse, coupled with decreased tax rates to cause massive defecit..

we need to deregulate and lower taxes !!!!
