Money wasted on bodybuilding "supplements"
« on: July 23, 2012, 04:14:08 AM »
We all know now that besides gear nothing really works if you eat right. Well, maybe creatine.
Myself I must have wasted hunderds of dollars on crap stuff when I was young and innocent.

Could you estimate how much you wasted over the years ?

I just use protein powders now and creatine on and off.

The odd bit of NO-Explode pre-workout as well has provided noticeable results in energy and pump which make working out more enjoyable but I'm aware it probably hasn't produced a single ounce of extra muscle.

Every year there is another crop of teenagers and guys in their early twenties that a fooled by the glossy ads in the magazines. Then after taking the expensive crap they realized they have been fooled by a snake oil salesman. It's okay for the salesman because another crop of suckers is right behind the first.

The only thing that works for me is creatine. Then again who knows if cheap testosterone powder was mixed in the brand I swear by. Think that doesn't happen? It does.

I also use whey isolate. I really don't know if it works but during the times of my best muscular condition I was using it. Maybe I just don't want to rock the boat.

When I first started training I probably 'wasted' a hundred bucks on BCAA's and tribulus terrestris (hahah yes) but shortly after training began, I joined getbig and was mercifully saved from remortgaging my home and selling my family to the sex industry for muscletech products - thank you all bros

Years ago, Muscle Tech brought a lawsuit against Elite Fitness because the members were on the board talking about what crap it was.  The courts threw it out saying that consumers had a right to voice their opinions.

Hahaha, just goes to show that the foundation of these 'products' is lies and deception. At the first sign of truth, they run for a lawsuit  ::)

Gaspari products would have to be the worst supps on the market.  Total waste of money and even their protein powder made my stomach bloated.

From personal trial, I've come to the conclusion that at least 80% of supplements are useless and/or unnecessary. This is part of the other 20%:

Apetite control, major mood boost, and sick energy all in one.

Haha, I used to fall for that crap when I was 15 years old - pics of Franco Santoriello "before and after" in Muscle & Fitness. Good thing I didn't have a single penny to my name back then or I would have gone ahead and bought it!

Used to drop $$$$ when I was younger on supps.

Joined GB and finally realized what a waste of money they are.

^^
I use a pre-workout and glutamine too, without lots of extra glutamine somehow my muscles get exceptionally sore, even though I get 250g of protein every day.
My take on "supplements" is take just a few things that work for you, sometimes I take 2 strong protein shakes instead of food at work.
But the various pills/enhancers out there are crap, Anavar does work!

I hear this saying a lot on GB and I've always wondered what exactly is meant by that?
So what is it about?

It means all the stuff about eating every three hours and getting enough protein in is fucking garbage. I stay very lean but seemed to hold that little bit of water most days. I just started eating only when i was hungrey, which was 3 times a day. Leaner, look bigger, muscle stays, only down maybe 3 pounds but a great difference. Can't believe how stupid i was.
