I can't speak for season 2, but the first season did a very good job of keeping to the story line of the first book. A few things were changed and I'm guessing because of budget constraints a few things weren't filmed that I was looking forward to seeing (Rob Stark vs Jamie Lannister at the battle of the Whispering Wood). Characterisation was near flawless - whoever cast the show did a fantastic job with only a couple of exceptions, so yeah - season 1 stacks up well with the first book of the series.

Things in the books only get more grandiose though, so I'm very keen to see how much they'll have to deviate from the books in the coming series.

went and looked at what everyone listed
looks like the avg. age on getbig is 18-25, almost every show listed are from the 90's or later

i didn't even see Columbo or Three's Company on the list, now how is that possible

Oh hell yeah The Wire. Omar was awesome, couldn't believe they had some no name punk cap him. But that's the way that show rolled. Loved the Rockford Files when I was a kid, nobody mentioned it
