So you think contraception should be covered by insurance? Really? And as far as abortion, that is actually an issue that should be handled by the states.

maybe romney should stop worrying about statues from foreign countries, and worry more about the american economy.

I mean, aside from the photo op, what in the world is he doing giving speeches in england?  He can't criticize sitting president, but he can talk about the white house decorating?  Sheesh what a waste of time.

i'd have way more respect if he was spending 2 wees  hunkered down in a nationwide economic conference he is setting up, bringing in the top 100 economic minds in america to craft an economic plan that will work for ALL americans.

But wait, he's making jokes about jolly ol england.  "I like grits!" on a global scale.  fckwit.

I think we should offer all women free 5-year birth control shots - as a mean of managing population.  I've said many times that in poor, high reproductive risk groups (15 year olds in poor urban areas), I would support the govt offering women $1,000 for a 5 year birth control shot.   That thousand just floating out there for any girl willing to take the shot.  Stop the younger breeding - if they start at 20 or 25, they'll have college/career rolling.

SO yes, I want the govt to pay for that, and we'd save a ton on welfare and healthcare.

but the daily pills, nah, that's your own responsbility.  I didn't get free rubbers lol...

There must have been a shift in space/time - something I actually agree with 120 about. A candidate has no business fucking around in foreign countries, he running for President of the US not the world

So you really meant to say is that we the tax payed should foot the bill for lack of personal responsibility?
You know what would save a ton on welfare and healthcare, getting the federal government the fuck out of it

I agree it's a lack of personal responsibility.  But it is the reality.  Do a cost/benefit analysis, and you can see that $1000 will be a lot less than 18 years of welfare + medicaid + food stamps + hospital costs + jail costs (yes, if your mom is 14 when you're born, you will probably find yourself in jail at some point, let's be honest).

If I, as the govt, can offer a high-risk woman a check for $1000 to NOT breed until she hits age 20, there's a damn good chance she will finish high school, start community college, get her career rolling, etc.

the fed govt is NOT getting out of welfare/healthcare... accept it.
people who are poor and stupid arne't going to stop breeding... accept it.

But we can minimize the impact by pausing that breeding for 5 years.  Do they make a 10 year depo shot? even better!  Start your family at age 25 and I bet your ass has a college degree.

I'm just trying the understand why he thinks that the government should condone/subsidize things that are personal responsibility, Don't know if 120 has kids, but when one of them wreck the house does he reward them? Give them a pat on the back, good job, keep it up?

Why stop there, lets just have mandatory sterilization ::) If these people are so fucking stupid like you claim how are they going to get a college degree? And who is going to pay for said college? Let me guess the "government" will foot the bill for that as well.

There is something seriously wrong with this generation, always have their fucking hand out, wanting something for nothing. Not having the least bit of understanding that nothing is free. And if they do, don't give a shit that someone else has to foot the bill

I didn't start breeding until I was nearly 30.  At that point, I had 6 years of teaching experience, MBA, computer certifications, my own business, etc.

As a result, I have raised my kin to be ALL about hard work and personal responsibility.

i don't think it's RIGHT that the govt would pre-emptively give a high-risk woman a 5 or 10 year birth control shot.  BUT I think it'd help the national economy.  We do lots of things that aren't morally right, but are right for the country in a BIGGER PICTURE sense.  Make sense?

at the very least, they don't leech welfare and medicaid for those 1 or 3 or 7 kids they pop out after that first one.
at the very best, they get bored of Maury reruns and they get a job.  Who knows after that.

I guess I"m taking the "but but we shouldnt have to..." out of the equation and just looking at the stats... you only have to do it ONCE, for one generation, and most of the 14 year olds having babies will not - and the cycle will be broken for the most part!

THink about a 34 year old grandmother you know.  She was born when her mom was 15.  She was knocked up at 14.  Her daughter was preggo at 15.  That cycle will continue!!!  BUT if you can break it for ONE generation, it'll stop!  If your mom and dad went to college, you damn sure grow up with that belief "oh yeah, going to college is part of life".  But if all you have ever known is to live off govt teet, you will repeat that.

I'm not saying it is right - I'm saying you castrate the new generation of breeders for 10 years, and you prevent millions of births that will end up being lifetime dependents upon the system (as will their offspring, and theirs...)

Yes, we shouldn't have to. But these 'people' aren't going to put the dick down and pick up a job application - unless you take away fertility for a decade.  Then, SOME of them will build something and contrinbute instead of draining economy, and the number of dependents will dwindle.

that' the BEAUTIFUL part - it's NOT a band aid - cause without that generation of kids born to a 14 year old mom - the cycle will start to break!

You become what you knew as a child, for the most part.   If mom has 5 kids before age 20, there's a damn good chance your ass (growing up dependent on the govt) is going to do the same!

I dont know the moral compass of it, and I know people will say "but we shouldn't have to" - but they're not going to stop fcking and being dependent - until you take away the PAYCHECK that comes with a baby, by pausing that baby!

The cycle will break, baby!  You install this for 2 or 3 generations and wow, imagine the savings!

The solution, take away welfare and all the other BS that enables the behavior. If they are having more kids to get more benefits, take away the incentive

And I am the resident racist?    ;D  ;D

its got nothing to do with race!

I grew up near cleveland, and my family (white) is full of trashy MFers woh have babies at 14.  My half-brother was born to a mom at 14.  My cousins' mom started at age 13!!  I was born to a mom at 19.  Uncle started at 16 I think.

The result?  Everyone was POOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   AND all these cousins of mine all have babies and they're 14 and 15 and 16 now, a generation later.

I am the only one in my family on either side that waited til nearly 30 to breed, and I'm the only one from either side to have a college degree.  Coincidence?  All these cousins are in and out of jail, they're all cooked on drugs or health probs from alcohol.  It's like most of my family is a DRAIN on the system!

IF the govt had gone into the projects of Ohio back in 1970s/80s and spend $5000 to stop 5 of them from breeding, my fmaily woudl be smaller and richer today - great for the US economy.

So don't go plauying the race card, 33.  it's the socioeconomic card, if anything, and my family is a shining example why you coudl offer VOLUNTARY birth control for 5 or 10 years with the shot, for a nice paycheck for anyone not ready for kids!

completely unrealistic, dude.  Compltely.

They'll never do it.  Looks great on paper, but you cut that money and the MFers turn to crime.  They beg outside walmart.  They steal from neighbors and they get violent.

You're completely RIGHT on paper.  It's not realistic tho.  no party, repub or dem, is going to tell welfare mom with 4 kids that hey, they have to starve now, sorry.  never happen.  The conserquences would be too ugly.  Society would crumble fast if you told the least educated, poorest, angrist, stupidest 5% and told them it's time to starve.

I don't want to walk past 30 fcking beggars every time I walk up to the redbox.  I don't want to shoot it out while trying to get my groceries in teh door.  Society will prevent this from happening, please accept that lol.

Survival of the fittest

Compeltely unrealistic.  COmpletely.

WIll never happen.  Never.  At this point, I dont know how to continue the conversatoin.  You are okay witha societal collapse in which 5% of the population is suddenly starving, without healthcare, and will then wreck life for the rest of us.  yes, lets' keep kids home from school, let's stay home from work, let's guard our huts with rifles cause 1 in 20 is out to rob us.

you think it could actully be allowed to happen as well?

You think our govt would allow chaos by startving 5% of population?

no, and now I dont know where to go here.  lol.   it will never happen, and it's where this convo is now
