Cool Hand Luke Challenge 50 eggs
« on: August 04, 2012, 01:51:16 PM »
Could you eat 50 hard boiled eggs back to back.  Its only 3000 calories and 300 g of protein, but could you stand eating all in say an hour.

Great movie!

I have actually been using "Cool Hand Luke" as a blueprint for my entire life. It's working OK.

To the question: Eating 50 hard boiled eggs in one hour is very difficult. About 20 years ago, my good friend tried it and failed. I was betting against him and I was the one who boiled the eggs and handed him beer and tequila while he was trying to eat 50 eggs in one hour.

He ate the first 30 fairly easy, but the last 20 just wasn't going to happen. He ate 38-39 I believe.

Just think of them as undeveloped chicken fetuses. That should make them go down easier. ;D

I like them, but sometimes I think to myself, "oh man, I am eating a chick fetus or something" and it makes me gag  :-\

My buddy is a firefighter, and as a "rookie" had to do this. He ate like 70, and he said he had the worst gas for two days, and while he was at the station, he literally chased everyone away he smelled so bad. He said he could no even take the smell.

No problem but I would have to have lots of mayo.

As CHL did it, could not and would not.

its not the taste or ammount that would worry me , its the cholesterol.  Even 2 eggs per day is over the recomended limit for cholesterol for the adverage man.

Pure myth.

Cholesterol is necessary for testosterone production.  Always eat ALL of the egg.  You'll be much stronger in the gym and your gains will be better.

Refined sugars are your enemy, not egg yolks.

no it's not!

you want/need HDL cholesterol. which is the good cholesterol . LDL is the bad shit

mind you, the confusion is undestandable.. one minute so-and-so food is bad and we'll be dead in a wweek if we continue eating it.. then the next, 'no, it's good for you now, eat all you can stuff down your throat

I've heard that eating too many eggs can raise your cholesterol - how many can I eat?

For most people there is currently no limit on the number of eggs that you can eat in a week. However, because the recommendation has changed over the years, it's often a common source of confusion.

In the past a restriction on eggs was recommended because we thought that foods high in cholesterol (including liver, kidneys and shellfish, as well as eggs) could have an impact on cholesterol levels in the body.

However, as research in this area has developed, so has our understanding of how foods that contain cholesterol affect people’s heart health.

For most people, the amount of saturated fat they eat has much more of an impact on their cholesterol than eating foods that contain cholesterol, like eggs and shellfish. So unless you have been advised otherwise by your doctor or dietician, if you like eggs, they can be included as part of a balanced and varied diet.

Eggs and Cholesterol

MayoClinic.com states that one large egg has about 213 mg of dietary cholesterol. The dietary cholesterol is predominately found in the yolk, and MayoClinic.com adds that egg whites contain no cholesterol. The Harvard School of Public Health states that dietary cholesterol from eggs does little to affect your blood cholesterol levels. In fact, it states that the mix of fats in the diet play a larger role in blood cholesterol levels and that eggs are actually healthy for you. HSPH indicates that eggs contain nutrients such as protein, vitamins B12 and D, riboflavin and folate, all of which may have health benefits that reduce the risk of heart disease.

Eggs are delicious. 3 is the maximum i'd like to eat at one sitting along with some toast, juice, kraft processed cheese and ketchup.

Lol when I first started training, I would buy 2 'mini' loaves of warburtons fruit bread and slowly eat them both during an 8 hour shift  :)

Safe to say, I was not on the cover of mens fitness that year
