It can. Same color depth and contrast as the monitor, same refresh rate, same resolution.
I used to think like you, but TV's have made huge strides in recent times. I didn't believe it either until I really started checking it out. Anymore they're almost the same things, the gaming TV's and the gaming monitors. Same technology now.
I have the same, an ld450 32", does perfect 4:4:4 chroma and its ips, youd be paying out the ass if they rebranded it as a pc monitor.
Going to flex my e-penis with my case + i7 4.5ghz, 16gb ram and 570gtx, all fed through a projector outputting to 120" 1080p

On a 30" computer monitor, you can get 2560x1600... that's almost twice the pixels of a 1920x1200 of a 32" TV.
One is twice as expensive as the other, but I suppose there's a reason for that.
Myself, I currently have a Dell 2407WFP, which I've had for more than six years. It cost £500 when I bought it and I've been very satisfied with it. Everybody derides Dell because they make their products from cheap components... can't say it was my experience when it came to monitors, so I'll got the Dell 30" as soon as I can.
