That's my point exactly. A male teacher, screwing a student (18 or not), would be frog-marched to the slammer in nothing flat. This epidemic of freaky female teachers doesn't make the act any less immoral. They're doing it for the same reasons the men are: They have power and influence over impressionable and vulnerable youth.

This Texas law pretty much evens the playing field, as in no lenient treatment for female teachers vs. male ones, nor for female teachers based on how good they look (unlike that debacle in the Sunshine State).
