No, I didn't. There is no speculation as to whether there are different categories of rape. That is FACT; that is law. Statutory rape is a distinct category and the sentence for such is lighter than for other forms of rape.

I understand that you seem conflicted on abortion due to case of rape and think it should be looked at on a "case by case" basis

1.  Can you given an example of a case of rape where you would decide that the woman should not be allowed to abort the spawn of her rapist

2. Does your party platform make any distinction whatsoever ?

1. If I had to make the call, it would be after physical, psychological, and social evaluations of the situation. To err on the side of life, I'd say that unless her life is at stake, keep the baby alive.

2. The GOP party platform, on the surface, seems to make no distinction.

I don't have a problem with that, if they are erring on the side of life. Or, at the very least, using abortion as an absolute last resort, as opposed to YOUR party's platform that wants the so-called right to kill unborn babies no matter what.

so you've got a woman that's been raped and now wants an abortion

what would be a specific "physical, psychological, and social" reason that the state should force this woman to give birth

None so far.

The Republican Party really is the shit stain in America.  When are they going to purge these morons from the party.  Barry Goldwater would be more than ashamed.

Lol.   The demo party platform is right out of the communist manifesto.

Nah.  I have a copy of it and it reads nothing like the Democratic Party platforms.  The Democratic Party is only a margin better than the Republican and its not really that great either.

The overall idea of the Communist Manifesto is to give people, the citizens, complete control and power.  I don`t think the Democratic Party wants anything like that to take place.

it means that it puts fatt ass claire back in contention when she was flat on the mat.

Dumb dumb dumb.

I'm not so sure about that. For some reason, I don't see a bunch of people, who want McCaskill gone, suddenly wanting her back for another Senate term, just because of this incident.

there were 8 candidates on the GOP side.   Akin got 3% of the total population voting for him.  He's not exactly loved, just the guy who ran on the furthest right.

Akin's the last man standing of the GOP. Unless you have some evidence that this incident all but guarantee's McCaskill's re-election, I say if the voters are still behind him, he should continue to run.

What a difference one TV interview can make. Embattled Democratic incumbent Claire McCaskill has now jumped to a 10-point lead over her Republican challenger, Congressman Todd Akin, in Missouri’s U.S. Senate race. Most Missouri Republicans want Akin to quit the race while most Missouri Democrats want him to stay.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in the Show Me State finds McCaskill earning 48% support to Akin’s 38%. Nine percent (9%) like some other candidate in the race, and five percent (5%) are undecided.

I saw that several hours ago. Akin, last time I checked, is still in the race. But, as stated earlier, who's going to replace him if he leaves and can that person defeat McCaskill?

Palin was talking about the woman he defeated in the primary running as an independent.

Someone needs to hire Jeff Gillooly.   :-\

I saw that on Greta a couple of nights ago. If that splits the vote, the GOP may as well stick with Akin. If, however, the GOP voters abandon Akin en masse for Sarah Steelman, then that could work.

Though, after the Murkowski debacle in Alaska and the Crist thing in Florida, I have a bit of a problem with someone getting beat, straight up in his/her party's primary, flipping to be an "independent".

why should he go ?

his views are in 100% agreement with the Republican Party Platform

he repeated and absurd belief about rape but that belief is a commonly held opinion among your fellow right to lifers and I'm sure people in Congress believed the very same thing until they say Akin getting hung out to dry by his own party.

No, it is not. And several GOP and right-to-lifers have said as much. But, as usual, you keep parrotting stupidity, hoping this issue will somehow save the Democrats from another beating, similar to what they received in 2010.

didn't he go from a commanding lead, to bragging that he still had a 1 point lead in the new poll?
