Flicking back between Football and whatever, and saw a commercial for this new show which has a gay couple conceiving a kid, among other things. As the title of the show states, The New Normal, is this how the downfall of our society will come? That television will normalize this stuff so that our young will see this type of behavior as acceptable? Was it always like this, and now there is just less closet cases because it is accepted, or is it this type of programming that confuses our young?

Yeah, that's kind of the question, is it television that may sway a young maliable mind to something other than the norm?  Seriously, I don't dislike gay people, and am not some religious nut, but men and women are supposed to mate, that's how we preserve the species. Something has to be wrong in the brain to make one like the opposite sex.

An adult is already set in their ways, and can distinguish between real and fantasy. A child cannot. Not saying this is the issue, but more of the underlying factor that you have to appease everyone and cover all the bases so not to offend anyone. It seems to me it would be better suited to aim towards a more general audience. Like you said, keep these niche shows on this channels, not mainstream.

Nobody watches network tv anymore. I find the writing unimaginative, and the humor as staid as a mildewed banana. That's probably why they can get away with such shows and shows like The Big Bang Theory.
I also believe that these shows in a sense mirror the fact the family "unit" has broken down, and that other than certain people pushing their agendas, they are trying to come up with something other than "reality shows", but the people who create these shows, lack imagination, so go for the "pushing the envelope".

I mean, NBC (I believe it was) had a good thing with Stressed Eric, which would have been something that Family Guy couldn't beat....but nooo they took it off the air.

And they had a good thing with The Playboy Club, but I believe they had people who said it glorified "exploitation of women"...bs, like Hooters doesn't do the same formula?

It creates confusion in young minds. In adolescents they will be asking themselves "maybe I'm gay?" "maybe I should let myself get sodomized and see if I like it and then I'll know".
And gay couples being allowed to marry leads towards them having the right to adopt children, who have no say in the matter. But what the children want is not important to them, I don't know about you, but I would hate to be adopted by gays.

No it doesn't create confusion, you know if you are gay or not.  I have a very good male gay friend and he said he knew he was gay when he was very young...I can't remember the age exactly.  Nobody influenced him, it's how he was born.  As for gay couples being allowed to marry, I believe politcians are going to approve it soon..well there is talk in Australia of gays being allowed to marry.  It's only a matter of time before some other western countries approve gay marriage.
