I think the majority of Americans are too dumb to realize what exactly Mormonism is. They think its probably another denomination of Christianity rather than a totally different bat shit religion.

I hate to bash on a guys religion but you nailed it TA.
They also belive Jospeh Smith read the first book of Mormon off golden pages in a tablet with special "seer stones".
Of course the golden tablets were never found to this day...go figure.

Ya know, with every major religion you have to suspend basic reason and logic.
Take the basis for the Christian doctrine.
1. A young woman gets pregnant without any sex via a magical conception?
2. She gives birth to GOD incarnate but is still a human of flesh of bone?
3. he is sent to his death via crucifiction on the cross and in 3 days , rises from the dead ?
4. If you believe THAT story you get to love forever in this devine , magical kingdom after you die?

That and the 9/11 Hijackers are now enjoying their 72 virgins in heaven

Mormonism is one of the craziest damn religions that exist. I have more faith in the Jedi Religion.

I know a few decent people that are Mormons. I don't generally hold peoples religious beliefs against them (unless they're muslims).

Didn't Joseph Smith claim he found the special tablets buried under a tree. Then his first wife caught him cheating on her and smashed them, then he miraculously found a second set of them.

They were run out of Illinois for underage wives or girlfriends or something like that. I worked quite a bit in a suburb of PHX that is predominantly Mormon and they really were pissed when John Krakauer published his book about them.

I'm in Gilbert, AZ at the moment- I run a tech biz. I'm not Mormon, but honestly, if they are the reason this place is so clean/safe/ and stable, I'm cool with it. And btw bike nut, I'm a cyclist (a road racer), and its a great place to ride. Flat, but no hassles. I do go up Scottsdale way to Usery Pass to get some climbs in.
TA - you are cool as hell. But the religious stuff - who cares? Kennedy was considered a non starter because he was Catholic. I think we've come a long way - or at least I hope so. In Christianity a man dies and comes back to life. He makes fish and wine with the stroke of his hand. Need I say more? Its religion. Doesn't have to make sense.

I agree with you, True Adonis is an all around decent guy but he's goes ape shit over peoples religious beliefs. Most time these are beliefs that have been ingrained since they were babies.
