Wheere the hell is Ron Paul :(

Thanks Hugo, I tried to add him (wasn't thinking when I created poll, but now I don't have an option to?).  If you can add him I would appreciate it!

We should definitely discuss instituting a minimum height requirement on the Political Board.

because he is black.  I have white guilt.  ::)

Seriously though,  and I am not voting for either one, but I have not heard one solid plan from team Romney on what they are going to do that will help America if they win.  All I hear is we will create jobs...but how?  How are they going to pay down the deficit?  Are we going to find ourselves in Iran or Russia next spending trillions more on bullshit?  Romney is a flip flopper.   He doesn't give a fuck about helping the backbone of America.  He is in it for the prestige of being president.

Yes I did. I said his foreign policy is a joke. He kisses the asses of dictators and socialist leaders weakened our defence, wants to cut our defence budgets to a 1/4 of what it was, shuns our allies and made the US a laughing stock in the international community. No one takes us seriously which is why Iran ignores sanctions and keeps right on with building nukes like nothing was ever said. Obamas a the coward in chief. Btw, this loser has to quit taking credit for bin laden. He didn't do shit. This asshole wanted to pull the plug on the Bush policies which led to bin laden but the libs are to damn stupid to either admit it or realize it.

Considering the fact that when asked to describe themselves, 70% of Americans would label themselves conservative Christians... A small sample like this does not surprise me with the early numbers. That is why the line in Men in Black is so right... A person is smart, but people are stupid. Under stress and pressure even people who don't agree with them will vote Democrat, contradicting their own description of themselves. The squeaky wheel gets the oil, so watching the media would make you think conservatism is the minority ideology in the US, but it is not by an overwhelming number.

Paul is not running a campaign dumbshit, he won't be on ANY ballots.  What do you want? Paul followers to launch a coup attempt? ::)  Gary Johnson is as close as it gets in this election to Paul.  He's running for president and should be on most of the ballots.

Before they released you from gitmo, what country were you from?

You don't have to argue hypothetically by saying "would this" and "would that"; the data is already available: 40% of Americans identify as conservative, not 70%. Further, among those who identify as conservative, only 71% are self-identified Republicans. The obverse of this is that almost a third of conservatives don't identify as Republicans. Your views have very little relation to reality.

You also incorrectly assume that 'Republican'='Conservative', which is apparently why you think that conservatives will only vote Democrat under "stress and pressure." But this is of course incorrect; Republicans have been running deficits, expanding the size and reach of government, and voting in social spending increases for decades and are now running a pro-life, single term governor of Massachusetts as their presidential candidate.

Finally, polls are limited in that people can be very confused about their ideology. They may say they are conservative but consistently voice support for liberal issues, e.g., social spending. There is research indicating something like this is the case. Thus, we can't take a person's word as to what ideology they are. As you yourself say, "people are stupid."

I said conservative Christians... Not just conservative. And no where did I say Republican even once. A conservative doesn't have to be a Christian hence your lower number... and conservatives don't have to be republicans. Right we have many more progressives then liberals or conservatives in the government... But not among the people.

1. We've got a language issue here. The expression "conservative Christian" is ambiguous and may refer either to conservatives who are Christian, or Christians who adhere to a conservative interpretation of their religion. If you mean the former -- as I thought you did originally -- then you are wrong because, well, only 40% of the country identifies as conservative at all, so it can't be the case that 70% identify as conservative + Christian.

2. Now, if by 'conservative Christian' you mean "Christian who adheres to conservative interpretation of religion," then your post is even more incoherent, and there is more data indicating you completely made up the 70% claim.

3. You didn't explicitly mention Republicans but you implied that conservatives vote Republican when you said something to the effect that since 70% of Americans would identify as conservative Christians, the poll results (which indicate significantly more votes for Romney than Obama) aren't surprising at all. This statement only makes sense if you assume conservative Christians vote Republican, which as I pointed out in my previous post is only partially true.
