What do you suggest to bring down LDL's? My HDL and Tri's are good. I thought reducing or eliminating saturated fat(red meat, butter) would help. I use red yeast rice(1200mgs) and five grams of fish oil per day and they help my lipid profile but I feel my diet could change for the better. An example of my diet now is:
Meal 1, slice of whole wheat bread with one tbs of natural PB and a tps of jam, banana
Meal 2, two whole eggs and 3 whites, oatmeal and a banana
Meal 3, chicken, turkey, rice
Meal 4, fish, chicken, rice, potato, veg
I was using butter to cook my eggs and was using it on bagels as well. Sometimes I would sear a steak in butter. I've also limited my simple sugars as my glucose was higher than normal on my recent cbc although still under 100.
you won't like it, but your problem is obvious... cut all grain , sugar and processed foods from your diet as well as any hydrogenated oils (vegetable or seed)
eat more healthy fats coming from natural sources (butter, coconut oil, olive oil are my favorites, just don't cook with olive oil) you should also try to eat a lot more omega 3 fats (vege/seed oils create a massive omega 6 imbalance)

i this sounds counter intuitive but eating more healthy fat decreases unhealthy blood markers in 99% of people... remember that cutting out processed foods is a huge part of being healthier...
just a few thoughts off the top of my head... the junk science of the 1970s has created an industry for deadly drugs like statins...
don't cut out the butter, cut out Merck, Monsanto and Margarine
just my $0.02
