Exactly, but the dealer is doing this and knows that corporate would back them. They think that because Ferrari has that "mystique" about them that they can play that game. And Lambo doesn't help much, with it's image of "douchebag and gold chains"...
And Mclaren---if that successor to the F1 pans out (The P1), Ferrari will still act the same way.
Of course, Ferrari can't say shit to Chris Harris now, because he owns a 599.
I recall Car & Driver getting their hands on a brand new Ferrari F-40 and a Diablo that the owner reportedly paid $1 million back in the early 90s and they trashed both cars and their build qualities which left a lot to be desired . The Lambo had piss-poor fit-and-finish , pieces were coming off , they said the Ferrari was better only because it had less pieces to fall off lol
No wonder why they tried to get their hands on a F-50 after multiple owners confirmed they would allow their cars to be tested backed out after Ferrari North America put the hammer down , they got one anyway and it didn't live up ( surprise , surprise ) to what Ferrari claimed and didn't even have a higher top speed than the current 550 Maranello of the time
Hell the Enzo is the first Ferrari to go over 200MPH , the F-40 never did , Road & Track tested a Euro-spec one sans cats in their annual ' Worlds Fastest Cars ' at VW's Ehra Lessien and it ' only ' went 196 MPH not the 201 they claimed , same with the F-50 but in the same breathe they'll spout the company ethos that Ferrari isn't about numbers

With all that said if I had the money I would by one in a moment
