I've been using this as part of my training for just over a month... obviously I am not a BBer and I'm loving the sledge...
i don't have a huge tire (no space in the condo) so I use 2 x 22" used truck tires, stacked (bolted together)

Used a sledge hammer before but not hitting tyres ...lol but it is a full body workout in itīs own and is hard work. gripping the sledge hammer is hard after a while...outstanding training, infact i might just see if i can do it myself WOOO..

i have 3 hammers now... my original 10lb, a 20lb and a 25kg sledge...
the 25kg is hilarious...
i vary whether i'm going for reps/time (lighter) or a rep specific (heavier)

the first i started hitting the tires with the 25kg sledge i was worried that the 30" of tires + the 4 rubber tiles under them wasn't enough to protect my floor... so far, it appears to be enough

We still break out concrete driveways the old fasioned way with a wrecking bar and a sledgehammer, its great excercise, half a day of doing it most mondays is enough in my case, and after a few months of not doing it you can certainly feel it when you go back to it.

I was under the impression that possessing a sledge hammer was illegal in Canada?

Here are my babies btw. 12lb regular hammer for cardio. 10kg (22lb) specialty hammer for warm ups. 25kg (55lb) monster for work sets.
Swinging that thing into a tire is as much fun as fucking. Period. No homo...

look nice .. i would do descending sets with them to failure. I mean you must have good grip and forearm strength.

Not a bad idea. I do the cardio version as a 5 minute sprint now trying to maximize the number of hits I can get in 5 minutes. I always want to puke by the end.
