Federal city of St. Petersburg, Rossiya banned gay-propaganda few months ago.
That's only one city though.... republics often enjoy wide autonomy on these things and can do this kind of decisions independently.

Hard-line citizens even sued Madonna after she made "pro-gay statements" at his concert in St. Peterburg  ;D ;D

Beautiful city full of history and astonishing czarist-era architecure btw

Which is why Muslims like you want to take world back to the 12th century, when women were property and every good Muslim owned at least one slave.  In accordance to the will of allah, of course.

lol i don't know where you clowns get your information from but Islam came in the 7th century. And women are able to own their property, run their own businesses, men cannot take their wealth that they earn. We don't own slaves lol, and Islam came to encourage people to abandon slavery as it was so widespread. Over and over again freeing slaves was emphasized. Muhammad's family alone freed 35000 slaves approximately. Their 'masters' who owned them, Muhammad, his famly, etc... they would pay their freedom so they would be free.

The first caller to prayer, was Bilal, an ethiopian slave who was freed and he became one of the strongest and most well known Muslim personalities who became above his 'master'.

Anyways :) You just make yourself sound foolish. Islam is growing and spreading, 1/4 of the 4 million american muslims are converts. The fastest rate of conversion is amongst white university educated women.

Do you think that if what you are saying is true that these women would not be converting to islam, yet they are the ones leading the conversion numbers.

I guess you prefer living in the so called 'modern' way where homosexuals 'marry' and 'adopt' children. A bunch of men who use their tool in each other's shit holes. Women who use dildos instead of being with a man. Yeah. Modern  ::)

Funny, such logic. They must force legal laws to 'allow them' to 'marry'.. and they must 'adopt' since DUH they can't have children it's not the way life is suppose to be. It's merely perversion and people who arrogantly obey their sick misguided desires.

Defense of Marriage Act struck down by New York court

A US law defining marriage as being only between one man and one woman has been struck down by a second appeal court, this time in New York.

The 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2 to 1 that the Defense of Marriage Act (Doma) is unconstitutional.

The act denies legally married gay couples federal benefits including the ability to file joint tax returns.

A Boston court unanimously ruled against Doma in May. The Supreme Court is expected to consider it next year.

Only it can issue final rulings on whether laws passed by the US Congress are constitutional or not.

In 2011, President Barack Obama instructed the Department of Justice not to defend the law, and earlier this year he announced that he supported the right of gays to marry.

Equal protection clause
The New York ruling came in a case brought by Edith Windsor, who sued the government in 2010 after being told to pay $363,053 (£224,940) in federal estate tax after her wife died.

The couple had been partners for 44 years and had married in Canada in 2007.

The majority opinion, written by Judge Dennis Jacobs, said that Doma's "classification of same-sex spouses was not substantially related to an important government interest" and therefore violated the equal protection clause of the US Constitution.

Doma touches more than 1,000 federal laws, Judge Jacobs said, arguing that "homosexuals are not in a position to adequately protect themselves from the discriminatory wishes of the majoritarian public".

He also rejected arguments that the definition of marriage was traditional.

"Even if preserving tradition were in itself an important goal, Doma is not a means to achieve it."

In his dissent, Judge Chester Straub said that the government could only change its understanding of marriage if the American people instructed them to do so through legislation.

"Courts should not intervene where there is a robust political debate because doing so poisons the political well, imposing a destructive anti-majoritarian constitutional ruling on a vigorous debate," he said.

The decision came less than a month after the court heard arguments on 27 September.

The Supreme Court is expected to take up a case on Doma as well as an ongoing legal wrangle over a gay marriage ban in the state of California, a law known as Proposition 8.

Disgusting. Western society regressing not progressing.

How does a gay man's lifestyle affect you?

What is wrong with two men marrying and settling down in a monogamous loving relationship?
I'd rather see a gay man marry another man and be true to who he is than have him pretend to be something he is not, marry a woman and ruin both their lives.

As for what two men do in the privacy of their bedrooms (no matter how distasteful to me) is none of my business. As for women using dildos... I think you may be watching too much porn.   ;) I don't personally know what lesbians are into, ...but common sense and logic tells me it is not dildos. if they wanted to be penetrated, I doubt they'd be lesbians.

The reason laws are in place to 'allow them' to 'marry' is because of intolerant bigoted people who cannot simply allow people to live their lives even though these people are having no negative impact on them.

Let us look at the word "desire". It stem from two words: de meaning OF, and sire meaning FATHER. Therefore the word desire means of the father. A man would not desire (want) another man, unless that desire was placed there of the father. Meaning God made them Gay, for whatever reason or purpose, is not for you or I, or anyone else to judge. True their coupling cannot produce offspring, ...but then again, alot of heterosexual couplings can't produce offspring either. I don't think it is for you or I to judge. Their desires may not be our own, ...but they are no less worthy of respect, common courtesy, dignity and equality. In a messed up world where many children don't have loving families or parents, the idea that they'd be better off stuck in some cold institution, rather than be raised in a loving home by a caring dedicated same sex couple who wants to take care of them is the real perversion imo

The fact that it's not a marriage, a marriage constitutes a male and female that can produce a child. When has a male and male produced a child?

Some plain common sense. Just another example of western society on the mental and moral decline.

After all there are people who aplaud this as a great way for 'population control'  ::)

And whether it's a dildo or a finger doing the action, it's all the same.

Women with two holes doing each other or men with two sticks doing each other in the wrong holes.

No matter which way you spin it, it's an action, no one is born doing this just as no one is born a killer, or a thief, or a rapist, etc... people are shaped into these things. On the other hand male and female gender exist for a reason.

It's a mental sickness that has lead people to accept this mental sickness of homosexuality.

Let us look at the word "desire". It stem from two words: de meaning OF, and sire meaning FATHER. Therefore the word desire means of the father.

Not choosing sides, but the etymology above is a bit forced, if not contentious. 'Desire' is a Romantic term, since it derives from the Romans via Latin. 'Desire' conveys the sense of a volitional wish:

from the Online Etymological Dictionary: desire (v.) early 13c., from O.Fr. desirrer (12c.) "wish, desire, long for," from L. desiderare "long for, wish for; demand, expect," original sense perhaps "await what the stars will bring," from the phrase de sidere "from the stars," from sidus (gen. sideris) "heavenly body, star, constellation" [as in, wishing on a star] (but see consider). Related: Desired; desiring. The noun is attested from c.1300, from O.Fr. desir, from desirer; sense of "lust" is first recorded mid-14c.

The Greek sense of 'desire' is more complicated (it's tied to erotic love, i.e., the objectification of what one wishes to possess), but I believe the term you have in mind is 'thelo,' i.e., "to desire, to will, to wish."

Although 'thelo' is referenced in theological studies of Biblical Greek, any subsequent connection or application of 'desire' to the Father or the Lord, as in the case of the Will of God (to make manifest what He desires), might well be an example of eisegesis. If our understanding of 'desire' appeals to its Western etymology, we have to note that the ancient Greeks and Romans were not Christians, and that the sense of the term was tweaked to suit medieval meditations of theological problems (as well as modern appropriations and distortions, whether Liberal, Progressive, Conservative, or what have you).
