I remember getting taught some of this .. NO 12 The Thumb Hold pictures 42-45 is very effective i can assure you. A great move to control AND transport an aggressor. I remember before a tour of N Ireland we also got taught moves with a single stick, strikes and locks... there gives a style of Escrima which uses a single stick so i guess this is where it came from.
