That tub of lard should be focusing his time on the treadmill, not on the heavy weights.

what are your goals dude?

if you wanna get bigger muscles focus on increasing training loads while keeping your rep range relatively low ie. 5-8 reps

if you wanna get some great conditioning with lots of "pop" to your muscles try Vinny G's 8x8 with 15-20 sec rest btw sets

and remember that genetics dictate what you can ultimately achieve

the excessive use of unilateral machines will greatly reduce the effectiveness of the workout

How so?

should have said "uni-planal"

free weights and bodyweight movements do a better job of building functional strength and total body change (not just muscular but joint, ligament, tendon adaptation to training)

In all fairness to that guy, he did lose mad weight.  He was never lean in any of the videos, but he got stronger while dropping a shitload of bodyfat.  I swear I've seen him much, much leaner than he was in this video.

He used good form on everything.  At times, maybe a little too good.  He seemed to chicken out on the leg press, though.  If Jones were there, he would've done 20 with that weight.  And I don't see the point in rushing from one movement to another, let alone starting with a shoulder press :?:

The "rush factor" is one of the several things where I beg to differ with Arthur.  I tried that shit when I was a teenager and all it really did was give me an insane VO2 max -- but then, I was doing a Nautilus circuit of 10-12 exercises 3x/wk.  4-5 exercises of a handful of reps once a week won't do shit for improving your cardiovascular conditioning or burning fat.

I can't fault them on their equipment choices.  Hammer shit's good.  Chins and bar dips might have some advantages, but at the end of the day, a contraction's a contraction.

woo is right that 10 to 20 minutes of bodyweight squats and pushups is all even pro level athletes need if done without rest

no one needs a gym or a barbell at all

pro sports are all roids

90% of thier power from roids
