Heard this on CNN today.

the only medical issue with his fight was a certain kick he used to use in competition was causing trouble with his hip. The fight then clashed with the making of expendables 2 so he had a choice, get his face back on the big screen or prepare for the fight. Ex2 won out.
Heard nothing about a rescheduling.

As hench said, hip issues + they made the mri results or something out to be all drama.
He's a great guy but strange in the head and seems he boasted the option to fight to sooth his demons... the med stuff provided a gentle escape route that saved his face.
