"We Will Correct All This."

« on: November 07, 2012, 08:35:38 AM »

Ever since the rise of the Internet their levels of delusion have equally took an upswing.  From blatantly false Chain Mails that make no sense, False News Stories, Confirmation Bias, stifled Comprehension from basic online news articles to the walling themselves from all reality.

The only hope they can have is for more of them to physically die off in order to cleanse their party.  It may take decades, but its their only hope as they will not magically grow a new brain to interpret data or their very surroundings.

I think its going to take 2-4 more elections before the useless ones die for the most part.  By 5 elections all of the useless ones should be gone.

And the base of republican voters are elderly people now, so the republican party will probably be replaced by independents or the green party, and maybe the two party system will be history all together

They're just giving people what they want to hear. If you have an audience of credulous, non-thinkers can you blame them?   Undecided

The problem with the Republicans isn't the internet. It's the infighting of the party, as is usually the case with a loss.

It's the Tea Party vs. the moderates.

The moderates are saying the Tea Party took the GOP too far to the right and wouldn't compromise.

The Tea Party is saying basically that, without them, they wouldn't have won the House in the first place.

As far as presidential candidates go, George Will of ABC made a great point. The musical chairs that was being played in the GOP primary was all done to keep the "inevitable" from happening: Mitt Romney winning the nomination.

Go back to last year and who was almost literally the flavor of the month.

August: Bachmann
September: Perry
October: Cain
November:Gingrich
December/January: Santorum

The Tea Party did not want Romney, because they feared that another moderate would lose to Obama.

And, that's the crux of the fight. They're going to say: WE TOLD YOU SO. We backed another mushy moderate and LOST. NO MORE!!

In fact, last night (or earlier this morning), I told you about a press release from the Tea Party News Network.

It's worse in the House and Senate races. Whenever a Tea Party guy/girl loses to an establishment/moderate Republican, usually they back that moderate in their race against the Democrat.

But, whenever a Tea Party candidate beats an establishment type, that type takes his/her ball and goes home or does everything to undermine the Tea Party candidate, ensuring he/she loses. We saw that in 2010; we've seen it in 2012.

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years.”

The Tea Party is precisely what destroyed the party.  They not only are kicking out old school Republicans who actually had decent things to say, they are kicking out reason for a social agenda that reeks of the 1950s.

Why would anyone vote for people who think women should be forced Trans-Vaginal Probes so they can see their fetus after they were raped?

The Tea Party are mental cowards and deserve to lose every single time.

Yes, I agree with this, and I doubt the GOP can self-correct. I've said it before....the Tea Party started as a thinly guised money saving opportunity for the Kochs, but it's taken on a life of its own. The fact that Romney couldn't stand up and unequivocally denounce those pre-historic comments about abortion showed that he'd probably remain in the hip pocket of the fringe. All he had to do...all he had to do...was move to the center-right immediately after the somewhat prolonged primary season, and come completely clean about his tax history, for better of worse. The far right and Bible thumpers would have stuck with him as the lesser of two evils, and he could have gone after independents, women and latino voters.

Without the Tea Party, the GOP doesn't win the House in 2010.

Romney will simply be viewed, I think, as the John Kerry of the GOP: The guy the base didn't really want but the establishment thought was the most "presidential".

Go back 8 years. When Bush got re-elected, did the Dems compromise or go to the center? NOPE!!

They went far-left, blocking Bush at every turn and really chop-blocking him, when they took Congress.

The Tea Party will do the same, only to the right. Their argument will be the GOP ran another mushy moderate; he got the lips slapped off his face; we got creamed; and we're stuck with Obama for another four years.

SO......TO HELL WITH COMPROMISE AND REACHING ACROSS THE AISLE!!! We need true conservatives.

Chris Hayes of MSNBC made the point, after Maddow commented about the GOP losing two Senate seats, that the messages keep getting mixed, because of the electorate that shows up on general election years vs. off-election years (or midterms).

Basically, in general election years, they're "less white and more liberal"; in off-years, they're more white and more conservative.

Read an article that said - Obama has six weeks  time to act now - thats as much as the reps will be busy with themself before regrouping, there could be a lot of change happening in the next 2 month.

Republicans said the same thing after 2004's election.

Again, the libs didn't compromise with Bush or the Republicans. They went far left.

The problem was that the reps sold Romney like a product, like something that can be changed when ever needed - people are not that dumb.

Hardly the case.  You see, we are allowed to go further to the left (which really didn`t happen), as progression always comes from being liberal or more liberal.

Going further to the right is not an option as it represents a complete roll back and stagnation of progress.
