neither is bad

the only food that seems bad is heme-iron containing foods bad for liver and kidneys

all foods are fine

all foods are going to effect your bloodsugars, so just burn them off with activity

alchol is bad for liver

thats about it

sugar. x 100,000,000
if sugar was introduced now, be banned instantly, it fails a load of food additive tests...

Sugar, no question

I think more and more studies are showing that all fats can be beneficial, and that sugar is like poison.

The body runs on sugar, why would it be poison? It even produces it if not present in sufficient quantities.

I'm sorry, I'm talking about simple/refined sugar.

I've yet to see 1 (university educated) nutritionist or sports nutritionist advise saturated fat over even simple sugars. Of course you don't want to eat too many of your carbs in the form of refined sugars (because of them being empty calories and the blood sugar drop, no other reasons)  but I and they still consider them harmless. But nothing is really harmful as long as you are not overeating/fat.

Very true.  There has been some studies done, which suggest that simple refined sugars accelerate aging though.

Booty is right on. Glycation is a mechanism where sugars combine with protein and skin loses its elasticity and internal organs become rigid. So much for  "calorie is a calorie"

I have a sweet tooth which I keep under control but I'm going to try cutting out all simple refined sugars completely. The only sugar ill get everwill  be from fruit and greek yogurt and dairy like cottage cheese. On and off season. I'm curious as to what difference this will make. I see no reason for these simple white sugars ever. However I'm sure ill be withdrawing for awhile.
