Agreed.  The traps look like they belong on another body.  They "created" the physique for the Silver Surfer in the Fantastic Four movie too. Is it really that really preferable to finding an actor with a decent body?  Why?

Probably harder to find a decent actor with the body they want. Or it may be just tradition to go to the effects people for stuff like this. Or it may just be that they can get exactly the idea they have in their head, rather than having to settle with something that looks close.
