What boxing need right now more than ever is 2 warriors who fight with no fear looking to knock out the opponent for a legendary status in the sport , just like happened yesterday.
The way this 2 warriors fought yesterday reminded me the same mentality Hagler vs Hearns had in their great bout with a KO ending similar to Hearns  vs Duran.
Pacquiao is a warrior and was taken out like a warrior by another warrior like Marquez.
Pacquiao knew that Marquez was is most formidable opponent and he choose to fight him instead of safe rematch against a soft puncher like Bradley. I have more respect for Pacquiao now than ever because of that !
Pacquiao and Marquez have that old school mentality of boxers who fight for a legendary status in the sport.
The fight of last night is going to be remebered as one of the greatest fight ever in boxing history because of the ending and the caliber of the protagonist of the encounter. I just witnessed yesterday what I consider stuff of legends.
Floyd instead is a greedy man and a cherrypicker trash talker afraid to lose and be beaten by dangerous opponents.
No matter the loss in their record Pacquiao and Marquez are now legends and will be remembered as legends in the future for their great rivalarie and courage displayed in their career!
Mayweather instead is going to be remembered just as exceptionally skilled boxer with no heart and courage and never will be considered a legend of the sport !

Still in mourning. Can't even watch replays of the fight or look at these dumb pictures. I know most posters on Getbig think that boxers and athletes are these characters that play out their lives, battles and stories on your TV/computer screen but Manny to the Filipinos represented much more than someone to cheer on. I'm not even going to grant getbig anymore of my thoughts on this matter, but let me say that as a fan of boxing, like I have been since I was 13 or younger (being 34 yrs old) ... that's boxing, sometimes your the windshield and sometimes your the bug. Oh hell nah.  He's a great fighter but not a top ten great.  Those 8 division championships are misleading-for one there are too many belts, he beat belt holders not "champions' and he fought them at catch weights.

Pacquiao isn't better than Mayeather(who also is not a top 10 all-time great) and he's arguably not better than Marquez.  That's 2 guys in his own era who will go down as better boxers than him.  Throw in Hearns, Duran, Leonard, Armstrong, Ali,Robinson, Pryor, Arguello, hell a shit load of other fighters I can't even think of right now and Pac's waaaaaaay down the list.

He's one of the best of his era-and that's pretty damn good still.  But far from top 10.
