Yes. Without a doubt. Joe Greene was the reason the Steel Curtain defense was as strong as it was.

There's no way Ham and Lambert get open to hit running backs the way they did without Joe Greene basically owning the line of scrimmage. He was a wrecking force of a man that offensive lines had to key in on. You didn't get to the second level to hit an LB when Greene was in front of you. Nor did your double team teammate. Only guy I've seen better is Reggie White.
