as was stated, nobody cares---they are "cannon fodder".
People only get riled up when it's school shootings, or mass shootings.

of course, because alot of the shootings in Baltimore Washington or Killidelphia are black on black, in the poorer areas and most importantly gang related where the victims know they're killers. Different when some dude blasts a bunch of women and children in suburbia. Cops dont put gang murders on priority.

I've said it before..fuck a cop...put two soldiers in full battle gear for the same money. Now you can't just get the drop one one cop and you're in. completely takes away the element of surprise

Fuk that, whudabout a full nuke at every school !! No wages, 24/7 protection, headmaster has the launch key plus every teacher posses a spare key in case headmaster gets eliminated...

as you have said in the past. there is usually more to the story when one ghetto thug shoots another, drugs, money whatever. he probably had it coming.

when a madman kills 20 little kids in the first grade, there is no "more to the story"  except why the fuck would someone do that.

Also, because shootings in said cities are ubiquitous, they are "expected",gives job security to police and judicial system, and takes the attention away from politicians, who really don't do jack for the cities, except take bribes.

A vicious cycle---Jalil gets shot, because Jalil might have shot someone else, or was selling on another dude's turf.
The saddest thing, is when you see a dude at 11, and you try and talk to him in the time you have, and you hope you don't see him in the same path, and you see him at 20something, and he has screwed up his life---with the same look in his eyes that he had at 11.

sheet, Hollywood's violent movies can be one of the reasons why many countries (who'd want us to fall) haven't made sure we kick the bucket. Damn near everybody (men) like Stallone's, Arnold's, and other actors movies---in many parts of the world, violence is part of life.

And you know what happens in American culture, once we curb stuff, it either goes to the cornball "My Little Pony" way, or to the reality show way---due to greedy execs wanting to make fast cash, and a turn a profit.

Good plots and writing, that's a British trait.

Violent Video games, who do you think buys them for their (many times fat ass, mentally unstable, and socially inept) kids? The parents!

Too many liberals are quick to use the "personal responsibility" argument, when you go after their favorite form of entertainment, which might contribute to someone doing what Lanza did.

But, they don't do that with guns. They think that the instruments MUST BE BANNED (or heavily restricted).

They hide behind the first amendment, to protect their sacred cows, all the while they go after the second amendment.

as you have said in the past. there is usually more to the story when one ghetto thug shoots another, drugs, money whatever. he probably had it coming.

Oh, there's is more to the story:

- Kids pick on him for having big ears in school.
- His mama didn't give him enough gummy bears, when he was little.
- He couldn't get a date for the prom.

yes but these people doing the shooting aren't exactly trained killers. let's see how bad ass they are when someone shoots back.

and not civilians, Soldiers.  Just make a rotation at the local army base, marines and national guard. when your number comes up, you have a month school detail.

How dare you bring some common sense here.

it's insane to think you'd put 800 kids under age 10 in one location without one police officer for $40k a year.

Aside from the shooting risk, you also have very soft target for terrorism.  You also have custody disputes, 5th graders who can beat up teachers, car accidents in parking lot, etc.  I've been saying for years - you NEED one cop at every school.  Middle and high schools already have them automatically.  Cut one of those admin assistants who carry around a clipboard all day trying to look busy - and put a cop in every school.  Easy enough, common sense.

I think common sense agrees with NRA here.
I totally agree with 240 ,  but we also need  at least one  police officer  in  :

School buses
Soccer practice
Football practice
Baseball practice
Chuck E. Cheese
DQ
Gymnastics schools
Dance schools
Parks
Water parks
Swimming schools
Daycares
YMCA
Gym  child cares
Children's museums ( actually all museums)
........................ ........................ ........................ ............to be continued.

Use the Army Reserve. Aren't they paid by the government to be a "standing" part of the army?

Neither of those two are legally allowed near children.

Actually, it's not - it called being a human, and being civilized. Schools should be places of education and socialization for our young - now they are vehicles of politicization and fear. Things are so going off the rail.

they might claim 'posse commetatus', or however they spell it - cannot use military against civilians.   We'd need someone to take police reports for accidents, deal with restraining orders, etc.  Soldiers are trained to kill shit.  Typically, particularly in elementary school grades k-5, where they DONT have a cop now - ONE COP would probably be fine.  Attackers would stand out like sore thumbs.  Wearing a vest, it's a good chance he'll at LEAST hold off an assault on the school.  More likely, he'll shoot the attacker.

they already have 2-3 cops in high schools and 1-2 cops in middle school.   They're too cheap to put one cop in every elementary school - it only makes sense.

Armed guards at schools are all well and good but if they can't occupy effective defensive positions it's all for nothing.  At minimum we need to establish enough towers to provide an uninterrupted field of fire, as well as maintain a razor wire barricaded no man's land.  Remember: if you cannot hit the enemy, you cannot kill the enemy.

In many of those places, parents are present, and parents can choose to get a permit and carry a gun.

When I'm at a restaurant, i'm stting facing exit, glock on the ready for anyone who comes in with that vibe.  Ya know that vibe... eyes not on the menu, body language urgent... someone comes in that quickly, you know it's a robbery, or they have to take a shit really bad.  That's always a possibility.

yes, but they ALREADY have cops in the higher grades - to break up fights, deal with accidents, deal with weapons, cutsody disputes, etc.  There is NO debate on if we need cops in high school - they are already there.

The only debate here is whether the smaller kids need them too.
