TEBOW REFUSES TO PLAY SUNDAY IN WILDCAT

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tim Tebow finally stood up for himself. After learning last week he wouldn’t start for the benched Mark Sanchez against the San Diego Chargers, he told his coaches not to put him in any Wildcat packages, according to a source.

 Good for him.

The nice guy showed he no longer wanted to be a part of the Jets’ season-long ruse.

His star has fallen far and fast with the Jets. And not because he has underperformed, but rather because he has never been given a chance.

Tebow took his place on the sideline on Sunday to watch the underwhelming Greg McElroy get sacked 11 times in the Jets’ 27-17 loss to San Diego.

It should have been Tebow’s game to win or lose.

When Rex Ryan decided to activate all three quarterbacks without naming a backup for the game, Tebow became the NFL’s version of an innocent bystander.

Sanchez held the clipboard, charting plays tethered to offensive coordinator Tony Sparano’s side. Tebow spent most of the game stalking the sidelines with his hands in the warmer pouch hanging from his hips.

Ryan and Tebow strained credibility after the game, first the coach saying they had practiced all week using receiver Jeremy Kerley taking snaps out of the Wildcat because it added an element of surprise to the passing game. And then Tebow played good soldier, never mentioning that he had asked out, with his “team-first" comments.

“I was just trying to help the team any way I can," Tebow said.

How can he help the team  standing on the sidelines?

“Try to be encouraging. Try to be a leader on the sidelines," Tebow said.

The guys a fraud...Why say anything? Why not just fake an injury if he doesn't want to go in for the last game. Jaguars are gonna find out in a hurry when he's traded just how bad the guy is in practice next year. Some claim he'd rather be in the gym building his muscles for the boys than learning how to play QB. From what I heard, the Jets thought Tebow was going to be pretty good going into the season. But Rex and company couldn't believe just how bad he was in practice. And Tebow was all golly gee guys all the time. Fukcing weirdo. 3o0 pound monsters trying to kill you and Tebow didn't want any of his teammates using bad words around him. Get the fukc outta here Tebow.

In a league full of felons, murderers, rapists, drug addicts, and baby mommas, I'd take Tim Tebow on my team any day of the week.

Tebow is still 300% better than anything the Arizona Cardinals trotted out on the field today.

How soon people forget what he did for the Broncos last season. Turns out the only frauds are the jets, and I liked Rex Ryan but he screwed Tebow over. As far as being "too muscular"? That's an old sport wives tale.

Mark Sanchez is a fraud. Admittedly, Tim Tebow won't ever be enshrined in Canton, but Mark Sanchez is as overrated and overpaid as anyone in the NFL (except for Kevin Kolb).

He's not an accurate passer.  He had success in 4th quarters against prevent defenses, but since the league learned how to defend him, he was pretty average at the end of last year.  He won against a highly injured PIT team, and was destroyed by New England.

He could work in the NFL, but the entire offense would have to be based around his "read one route, then run for it" strategy.  Any team that takes him on would probably have to commit for the year.   Jax should give it a try and see what the wildcat can do.  But we'll also see Tebow miss 3 open passes every game.  I dont think that can succeed at pro level, and that after a quick stint in JAX, it'll be Tebow moving to fullback.

He has succeeded at the pro level, thus far. And, with regards to beating an injured Steeler team, his team was highly injured as well: Moreno, OUT! Bailey, OUT! Decker, OUT (injured during the game)!!

The saying goes: You live by the blitz; you die by the blitz. Pittsburgh's blitzers weren't getting to Tebow and when he scrambled out of the pockets, guy were WIDE OPEN and Tebow hit them (and they actually caught the balls).

A team like Jacksonville should build their team around him. It can't get much worse for them at this point.

Let's see what Tebow can do, when he doesn't have to dig a team out of a 1-4 hole.

sometimes, guys can come into sports and make their mark, tear shit up, before people have film on them.

once you learn Lin can't go left or Tebow can't hit open passes from the pocket, you realize how to defend him.

The NFL is all about winning.  Coach Ryan is a smart guy.  If he thought Tebow gave them the best chance to win, Tebow would be in the game.  We all saw tebow in the pre-season, missing guys by 5 yards who were wide open in the end zone.

mcelroy isn't great, but he was very good at alabama and will be a solid QB in 2 years.
