The debate is getting a little stupid on both sides but it's not a bad point to say that a person who has set their mind on killing a lot of people can easily find a way to do it even if they don't have access to guns.  Would you feel better if the idiot had drove a truck into the school filled with gasoline and a way to ignite it on impact?  There's a zillion easy ways crazies can sit around and come up with if that's what they're going to do.  Why not look at what makes people do shit like this?  Why is it more important to talk about gun control than it is to talk about what effect the drugs these guys are on has?  There's a lot of shit to talk about here but the left just wants to make it about gun control ::) That's fucked up.

easier said than done and I get the feeling sick fucks like the shooters in CT and AZ get off on using a gun and might not have the same feeling about driving a truck filled with gasoline and even if they did do that I suspect the death toll would be smaller .

I think we can do thing to mitigate the death toll and I think we also have to have higher standards for all gun owners and this will mean more enforcement, follow up, etc..

Oh BS... This isn't something WE can base on YOUR feelings.  What we know is that for many of these shooters it has been established that they planned it for a time.  What you all are thinking is that in their planning stage if there were no guns they would have just,... what, given up?  BWHAHAHahahah...  So your theory is that a guy planning to kill will just be so let down that he couldn't get his hands on the guns he wants, he'll just give up on his plan to kill?  ::)  yea... hahaha...

why didn't the AZ killer just get in his car and plow through the crowd

how about the shooter in CT or anywhere else

do you have any examples (or a bunch since we have bunch of shooting examples) of nuts hell bent on mass murder doing that

why not?

It would be cheaper (no need to buy a gun)

Look at all the gun nuts on the board

They LOVE shooting their guns and talking about shooting their guns and pining away for the chance to shoot their guns

Yes, I get the feeling that these people CHOSE to use guns because it was efficient, easy and they get a thrill out of standing in front of someone and gunning them down

all these first person shooter games should give you an indication that people find that sort of thing to be fun (and I'm not suggesting those games caused any of these shootings)

What we're questioning here is; would he have chosen another path to kill if he couldn't get his hands on guns?

He's another case that planned his shit in advance.  I say it's absurd for you to suggest he couldn't come up with another way to kill without guns.  I mean fuck man, there are chemicals you could order without any checks that you could load into your car, as you suggest, and have even more people killed than the AZ shooter did.  Dude, anybody with highschool Chem under their belt can figure out how to kill if they really wanted and you don't even need that.  Like I said before, load up with gas, find a way to trigger and make your run.  Would you rather they burned to death?

Guns are not the problem.  Why does this guy want to kill masses?  You need to address THAT!  taking away the guns will not help address problem cases like this.  Several of these guys have been very intelligent.  Like the Colorado theater clown.  That dude went to great lengths rigging shit to kill others in his home.  To think he would have just called it quits without guns is a laugh.  He would have went into that theater with something else and there is a good possibility that it could have killed even more.  Same case with the recent school shooting, I'm sure autisic boy could have worked something else out...  Same with the AZ shooter...

And straw... WTF?  Stop calling me a "Gun NUT" or calling other people nuts because they believe in gun ownership and the 2nd.  That's just stupid on your part.  I have never done anything nutty or planned anything nuts where guns are involved.  Despite what you would like to be the case, that's also the fact for the vast majority of American gun owners.

I've been thinking; now we might know why DHS went overkill with their ammunition purchases.

Why Is Homeland Security Buying 450 Million Hollow Point Bullets?

LA police: Fire set on woman 'defies explanation'
Montana Standard ^ | 2 hours ago
Posted on December 28, 2012 7:04:25 AM EST by BenLurkin

Police say the attack defies explanation: A man poured flammable liquid on a 67-year-old homeless woman as she slept on a bus bench in the San Fernando Valley, then lit a match and set her on fire.

A witness called 911, and police arrested 24-year-old Dennis Petillo a short time after the Thursday morning attack. He was booked for investigation of attempted murder and was held on $500,000 bail. It wasn't immediately known if he had retained an attorney.

The assailant "just poured it all over the old lady," the witness, Erickson Ipina, told reporters. "Then he threw the match on her and started running."

Police released no details on Petillo. The victim's name also was withheld.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.

Tej Deol, 31, who resides at a nearby sober living house, said the woman made the bench her home and often could be found sleeping there after sundown. He said he saw her Christmas Eve, getting ready to eat some soup.

"I told her, `Merry Christmas and happy New Year,' and she said she was doing good," Deol said. "She was so kind. She was happy to have someone talk to her."

Thursday's incident was at least the third in Los Angeles County since October where people were set on fire.

Last week, a 55-year-old man was seriously injured when he was set ablaze as he slept outside a doughnut shop in Norwalk. Two months earlier, Long Beach police said Jacob Timothy Lagarde, 27, allegedly threw a lit Molotov cocktail at a man who had been waiting for his father outside a store. Lagarde has since been charged with attempted murder and five other counts.

I think we need to do something about lightning.  unchecked joules of energy.
