Don't have one, they all have flaws.

For example, someone quoted Russell on another thread. Russell was an incurable romantic who thought education would solve everything and technology would enable humans to work less hours per day.

And Nietsche's various mental afflictions clearly show through his work... not to mention what a rabid misogynist he was.

I take what I can from them, but having a "favourite" philosopher is absurd.

Johnny Falcon
"right now i decided to do one arm pushups and pullups in the pm only everyday, i save dumbell lunges for the morning everymorning. In order for me to get that pm workout in i need some flavorble food like 4 to six krispy kremes but ill eat it with alot of raw kale greens or raw turnip greens. this will be good for absorbing the vitamins since vitamins need fat and yogurt in the system, i have yogurt along with grits everymorning. a shitload of beans and bread for lunch. leafy greens 3-4 times a day and dark grapes and carrot juice everyday"

Johnny Falcon
"turnip greens are the next level down from kale greens but MUCH MORE EASIER TO CONSUME RAW than kale, cause they are not as dense and dry.

they taste great with orange juice or kale. Just bite huge chunks of turnips and drank some juice

you feel the energy almost IMMEDIATLEY.

desined for repair of body wich is mostly collagen. here is the collagen, you can see it was desined perfectly for human. remember we cant live without plants, they breath us and we breath it"

"hahaha yes it's true, there are many things that Jean Francois has lifted above the head

let me tell you these things:

a boat

a fiat

a carton of water bottles

to me this is just another day of lifting things above the head. Yesterday Jean Francois did 6 sets of lifting things above the head, utilizing weider principle 9 *negatives*

It was while Jean Francois was holding 17 phone books above the head that Pauline the personal trainer with a cert iv in boxing instruction noticed the packet of Du Maurier king size tucked into the pant.

Jean Francois has learned the ancient art of cumming with one testicle at a time, I could cum now from my left testicle and then cum from my right in a week if I so please, however

I please to cum now from both testes inside Pauline's shit shoot

Jean Francois throws the phonebooks against the mirror and removes the custom 'I am Jean Francois' lifting belt, releasing the stomach of desire from its clutches.

Pauline suffers a dizzy spell

Jean Francois lets her fall

Pauline awakens, her ass filled with two testicles worth of Jean juice and a cigarette behind her ear.

Girls and sons who have not been loved by their fathers seek attention once teens and adults to compensate for what they didnt have originally. Fathers either left them alone, or were distant most of the time and not encouraging them. Some even despised them which would shape their personality and the way they d interact with others for the rest of their life.
They are extremistic in everything they do, always looking exageratly for attention, and have troubles adapting to society's rules, because they also have troubles defining their own identity and respecting authority and hierarchy.

Also boys who got picked on by others during childhood and adolescence -often sons without a father figure- try to compensate by lifting weights, to develop muscles and survive in ther male world. They re insecure because they re girly, childish, feminine having been raised by a single mom. They lift obsessively hoping it will transform them into men, to compensate for their lack of influence from a father figure that was not there. Unfortunaltey they can get as big as they can it doesnt cure their insecurity and who they truly are, how they grew up being raised by a single mom. They re no as manly as other men whatever they do, and they often have a big lack of masculine presence they dont know how to balance, hence often being borderline homosexuals while trying to get their manhood back thru various manly activities (mma, cars, weight lifting etc). They are often the ones that, in order to get respect from other males will go the steroids route to get even "bigger" attemptint to cure their insecurity , but being natural not being "enough", they still feel "too small", insecure, amongst other males. The lack of a father figure also often means they didnt have guidance to continue studies and are often working shitty manual jobs.

Every human being that ever lived has been flawed in some way. What's absurd about having a 'favorite' philosopher on the basis of their work, personal flaws aside?

Can't I have a favorite actor, whatever freakish Hollywood bullshit they have going on off the screen?

Hi.

Also, it'd be helpful if people offered thoughts on what they think philosophers are. Most seem content with 'smart people on websites with dem dere pithy quotes,' but we all know that is inadequate.

Well, I think the 'problem' lies with the fact that beyond a masturbatory first year of uni, philosophy/philosphers really don't have much traction in every day life.  ;)

I'm digging that Plato dude, with the whole "shadows reflected on the cave wall" biznatch. I'm kinda fooling around with a sorta Platonic Zoology of ideas thing.

When I go to parties and tell people I studied philosophy, their eyes glaze over.

When I go to philosophers' parties and tell them the specific sub-topic I contributed to, their eyes glazes over.

But don't sell the subject short: the masturbation gets even better at higher levels, akin to learning how to perform the stranger and other advanced techniques.

Anyway, as per my comments, you'd need to define 'philosopher' before we could have a discussion about whether they "have much traction in everyday life."

Friedrich Nietzsche - The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

Ah, women. They make the highs higher and the lows more frequent.

Hope in reality is the worst of all evils because it prolongs the torments of man.

Faith: not wanting to know what is true.

V - " Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V. "

probably todd rundgren.....

"And my mind knows what it wants
But my body just drags me down
And my world is something you can’t see
But it’s still very real to me
You can find it in the hole where I keep my soul
There it is - way down inside me
There’s a real man
Forget about my body and be a real man"

"Then you’ll wake up in the morning cryin’
"oh my god"
There it is - way down inside me
It’s a real man
You got to grow up sometime
Be a real man
Suffer them slings and arrows
Be a real man
Now be a real man
Don’t sell yourself for nothing
Be a real man
Don’t take no crap from no one
Be a real man
Get your trip together
Be a real man"
