Rumor has it, it will take 2 BluRay discs to hold all of the game.

Lol no, no way will they make the game so big it needs 6+ 8gb discs for the 360 and neither will they give the ps3 anything extra (hd movies, higher quality textures etc) over the 360.

I prefer PC gaming -- it's a very pleasurable experience building your own machine that can play all the genres available on consoles and then some. Consoles are superior as far as offline multiplayer is concerned, however (though it seems that console developers are increasingly leaving offline multiplayer options out of their games).

Here are some pretty pictures to ameliorate the inevitable butthurtedness of the inherently inferior console drones:

I rarely play video games, but I fucking love every GTA game.  Even just exploring the map is fun as hell, even for a non gamer.

I remember being fucking amazed by San Andreas, so I'm excited as hell about V.

Do the Grand Theft Auto games pretty much set the standard?  It seems to me (could be wrong), that everything from the GTA games is copied into games that come out later?

Not in my opinion.  The gameplay really hasn't changed much from version to version, and the controls for the cars are always shoddy, at best.   It's been the same game with a different story.  Love GTA III, and LOVED Vice City.  After that, the games got repetitive to me, especially any race against the clock.

All I know is I'm sure Sony and MS are crapping the bed about Valve's plans with PC gaming. If you don't think they aren't SERIOUSLY concerned then you don't know what you are talking about.

Why are they crapping their pants?  Halo, Gears of War, Uncharted, MGS, God of War, etc.... will never on the supposed Valve box.   There's more than enough console exclusives to support the genre.  They're completely different markets anyway.

If the Console is crapping over the PC, is the PC crapping over the Tablet?   There's enough user to support the three markets.

As I said... rumor has it.

You have to remember, we already have 3 disc Xbox games... and it won't be 6 discs... It would be like 4-5 Xbox discs... But depending on the disc security, you don't get a full 9GB of DVD dual layer nor do you get the full size of a PS3 disc... The disc security takes up quite a bit of space.

Actually there is this bodybuilder in my gym...  I don't think he's juicing but he's big and lean nonetheless... but he used play games professionally and was getting paid good money at tournaments and stuff.

This is a correct statement... It is going to take DAYS to WEEKS to complete at 100%.

It is going to be the biggest game ever.

Rumor has it, it will take 2 BluRay discs to hold all of the game.

days to weeks?  in other words it's another gta game

if it take 2 blu ray disks, that means about 6 -8 disks for 360?

Not necessarily... No... compression methods are different between the 2 platforms, so that changes things.

It may be 4 Xbox discs and maybe just require a 2nd bluray disc for a very small amount of data.

Again, it's a rumor, because they may be able to squeeze some extra compression here and there and make it a non-issue.

Also, I have heard that Microsoft and Sony may have recently freed up some of the space in their security layer, allowing for more game data to fit.

So it could be a non issue.

Black Ops 2.

You sure you actually played the game? Pretty hard to fuck up the name of the game if you actually play it.

Sorry,

I fucked up. Yes Black Ops 2. Good game

I haven't played 2 but I liked the single player campaign in the first Black Ops. To me it was a throwback to the originality of the first Modern Warfare game.

The 4 player split screen was my favorite.

We would go into our theater and hook up our 360 and play 4 player split Nuke Town on the big HD theater projector... Talk about crazy fun.

6 can do 3D if you develop for that... Dev kits had 8 Cores and16GB of memory.

Tu, will the next gen consoles have similar processing power to a current I7 Intel Processor and GeForce GTX 680 GPU / AMD HD 7970 or so. Will they play 1080P at 60 FPS with AA and all the new effects. I am concerned that a high PC right now would probably slaughter the not yet shown next gen  ;)

Archer/Shizzo

The original was directed by Ken Levine, who was not involved in the sequel at all, as it was made by a bunch of his old staff.  As you can see, it had quite an impact.

Bioshock Infinite is his baby, is a whole new game, and will be like nothing you've seen.

Youtube has a trailer.   Looks insane.

All I know is I'm sure Sony and MS are crapping the bed about Valve's plans with PC gaming. If you don't think they aren't SERIOUSLY concerned then you don't know what you are talking about.

hahahahahahahahahahah

on a side note, i used to laugh at people like syntax, since consoles have always had MANY great games you couldn't get on PC.  These days though this seems to be changing.  Over the course of the PS3/360/WII generation, developers have increasingly brought what would have previously been "console only" games to PC on day one.  At this point, lots of people have computers that are at least as powerful as a PS3/360, and anyone who has a "gaming PC" has a machine that is far more powerful.  So as far as this generation is concerned, there's increasingly little reason to need a console in addition to your PC.  You can even just plug in your controller (whether PS3 or 360) and huge monitors (resembling the TVs of yesteryear) are cheap these days.

Of course this will change again in the coming year or two, when the next generation arrives.  People will whine about shelling out 400-600 dollars for a new console, but the machine you get will be far more capable than whatever PC you could build for a similar price, and everything will be as it was.  However, this window where the console has a power advantage will be shorter than ever before, and the PC releases will start coming sooner rather than later.  Even the biggest "console seller" titles will probably make their way to PC.  And by next-next generation... who knows, the console advantage may be gone entirely.  PC "ports" could become available almost universally by day 1.  At this point I might actually lose interest in consoles.

Who knows, really... maybe in the next 10 years or so you'll just buy an "Xbox live" subscription, and all the game-processing will be run "on the cloud", with the video output being streamed back to your TV.  No need to even buy a computer or console.

I think you make some good points, except I disagree about not need a console for this generation and the biggest exlusives - Halo / Gears of War / Uncharted / God of War / MGS will not lauch on PC.

Next gen consoles will all be using current PC hardware actually... Yes.

The current High End PC and the Next Gen Consoles will be very comparable... PCs will always evolve at a faster clip than consoles though, so your console that lasts 5 years, towards the middle of the cycle will always be underpowered compared to a nice high end pc of the day.

Unfortunately, that's how it goes.
