I did it when I was between 20 and 24 or so... I did it at an amusement park so it was pretty fun.
Hella' young chicks back then to mess with.
I wouldn't do it today, but that's not to say it's "pathetic".
I'd say that worrying about what someone else has going on in their life is much more troublesome than being a security guard.

Don't laugh....many of them will end up having police authority when the money starts to dry up.....Cities are increasingly finding it difficult to fund many police officers' lucrative paychecks and generous pension and healthcare funds.
