Here ya go-
1980, I'm a helping a friend clean up his back yard BBQ/patio/party area, after a long winter. In the corner I noticed an old wet dirty sleeeping bag. I throw the sleeping bag over my shoulder grab some more debris and am heading to the truck. As I'm walking I notice "something black and blurry" all around my head and face.
All of a sudden- BUZZ!!! Sting sting sting sting! A nest of yellow jackets had made their winter nest in the deep folds of the sleeping bag. Yellow Jackets normally nest in the ground, I think. I threw the bag up in the air and took off running. My friends saw what was happening and they were all yelling, "Run Tom run!!!" I think I ran about 1/4 mile.
30+ stings. Mostly to the face, head and neck.
