i was born in 'la belle province' and speak english/french/spanish... many other quebecois are also at least bilingual... this can be an attractive option when identifying where you want to raise your kids... speaking more than 1 language can give a person a leg up in life...

This is very true. Many Europeans speak multiple languages or at least a couple different languages. My daughter-in-law, who is German, speaks German, Russian, French and English fluently. Americans are not as motivated to learn other languages as some other folks are.
