Of course, you can buy an AK-47 or cheap Chinese pistol in any squatter camp so these laws only affect the people trying to protect themselves.

The main reason was of course the governments constant paranoia of a counter-revolution or uprising. Especially as many whites still had their service weapons from their national service days....and this was an easy way to disarm them.

Jail in South Africa basically means being gang-raped and AIDS.

You're in one huge room, the jail is ruled by a 'General' (leader of the gangs) and literally run by two gangs....one of the gangs is for murderers and the other is for rapists.

Everyone else is their bitch. If you don't do what they say they will kill you.

They sing Church hymns to block out the screams.

And if you you want to join one of the gangs you have still have to murder an inmate.

One coloured guy I worked with was infected with HIV because of being raped in jail.

i think this all doesnt add up
personally if i ever had to kill someone... Id like to look him in the eyes before snuffed him out....
this guy shot the apparent intruder that many times without looking at the person.....
