The Charles Atlas ad is probably the best-known solicitation of that genre.
But, has anyone ever seen the actual course? I'm curious what it contained.

WWF spoofed the ad in pimping one of their products. I forget what they were even selling, but the ad featured Macho Man. It was around the time that Ico-Pro was on the market, but I don't think that is what the ads marketed.

my kid remembers the ad it was in one of his old wrestling magazines, i'll let you know if he finds it. as far as the atlas course i know it contained exercises pitting one muscle against the other as atlas said when he saw a tiger stretching in the zoo he got the idea for the system.

^^ I think stuntmovie once remarked on that stuff. If I recall, he said it was out around the same time as the liver protein powder. Both smelled and tasted like ass.

they say this protein from the sea was some really raunchy stuff never tried it, only the protein pills and honey peanut butter and sawdust protein bars,

they used to sell this stuff at the just-b-natural stores in the area, it was serviced by boss enterprises the one and only bobo'leary from scranton wilkes barre area.
