I takes some time to learn a country/culture, just by observing things with your own eyes and comparing it with your own country. The Netherlands aren't that bad. In case you have plans, make sure you visit places like Utrecht, Nijmegen, Maastricht and of course Amsterdam, the rest isn't that interesting.

Why would an doctor risk his licence? He can send you to a lab for blood work, that's all he can & may do. In case he refuses, you need to pay for your own analysis. That's the Dutch situation, in case there's no medical need.
